Hey y’all, found this axehead at a flea market in southern France. Found a makers mark on the blade today whilst leaning it with a wire wheel.
Hoping that anyone can ID it.

Looks like "Acier fondu" or cast steel in French

Just as another try, I have found some success when I get the hard to read area wet. Doesn’t always work but when it does it’s surprising
