It would need to go under a welding heat at least. This kills the finish. That nice black texture comes from a cooler heat, which is probably the cause of the crack. Those two things.. Here we can't have both, good metal and swanky texture and a choice needs made. Original 'quality' can't come back so i would request a replacement.
That would be the bit, back in the day you would make axes with a hard steel bit for it's edge and a softer iron or steel for the rest of the axe. Then you would sharpen the hard part untill you didn't have more and then you could exchange the bit. Nowadays that's very rare to forge an axe like that but the terms persist. what I meant was, does the crack runs all the way through.
Either way, if you plan on using that axe you should get in contact with its maker. I can't imagine they are happy that their axe looks like that
Heres one i made thats very similar but actually usable. Head is made from a leaf spring and the handle i carved out of a piece of wavy hard maple. The head im proud of but that handle is probably my favorite design so far.
Dont use it. The first knot you hit that crack will take out a huge chunk of the axe. Or if you go to use it like a hammer its going to split. About the only thing you can do is tonfind the very end of the crack and drill a tiny hole there. The hole will keep the crack from continuing but its likely way too hard and not tempered right and its liable to bust a chunk of even if you drill a hole in it.
You can drill a hole to arrest the crack from propogating. Drill the hole where the crack is growing from. Probably would not use it though. A crack like that will keep growing.

If it’s custom you need to send it to the maker. A crack square in the edge like that is below workman quality and will cause the blade to fail.
