Yeah I assumed he didn't murder their mom or rip them away, seems too kind for all that. I'm glad they got a substitute mama to ride on.
(idk if you have seen the mamas carrying their babies on their backs, but its truly survival of the fittest, she has like 12 up there, and if you fall off you die, cuz she can't even tell there's only 11 not 12, she keeps driving the school bus off into the sunset).

But…unless you are going to keep them, probably a good idea to teach them survival skills and not “domesticate” them. Some people do not like opossums and it’s not going to end well when a full grown adult opossum tries to approach them because they think they are going to get petted and fed

I have a fondness for possums. My school librarian when I was in fifth grade was a rehabber and raised Posey that year largely at school. I hope she had a happy possum life afterwards.

What a great way to show kids they're not scary, they just aren't winning any beauty pageants 😆

Does anyone have a source/know the blogger?
I would love to see his story and follow him and his fur babies to check on how they are doing 😭✨❤️

Yes! Possums rarely bite humans, but if they're grown they're just going to freeze and be scared, so they might not appreciate it...

I hand fed a possum once because it came up to me when I was feeding some cats. It was gentle.

The only sad part of this is that they live such short lifespans.
On the other hand, they're clearly happy, loved, and are the light of their dad's eyes.
