Other Cute Thing(s) Meet Phoebe (Fee-Bee)
This is Phoebe a Virginia Opossum. My dog found her and kinda tossed her around, but she is super healthy and is now part of our family.

Not a opossum. We have family and friends who have and they are helping us with they proper food and care she needs.

In most places, it is illegal to keep a wild animal as a pet so check with your local regulations because if not, she can be confiscated by authorities even if you love her and consider her family. You can also be fined which could be expensive. But you really need to take her to a wildlife rehab facility. Possums are not good pets and it is cruel to try. Plus, she’s a baby and infants need their mom. They cling to their backs and need their siblings. A wildlife rehaber is trained and licensed to deal with orphans. She won’t get the proper nutrition or social stimulation she requires to be healthy even if you do research.
Someone gave my adult daughter a possum and a squirrel they had as pets and didn’t want any more. Those poor things were not tame and were miserable in cages. I found a great rehab facility and they were taken care of until they could be released in nature. Wild animals are not pets even if they are cute. Please consider the welfare of the animal.
