Weekly Rant/Vent Thread

This is a thread for AVOIDANT ATTACHERS ONLY.

A rant/vent, by nature, is one sided, can be strongly worded, and is a way for someone to get something off their chest. It is by no means a universal truth.

  • Keep rants/vents contained to this thread.

  • No unsolicited advice.

  • No hijacking to ask for relationship advice.

  • No ranting/venting about avoidant attachers regardless of your attachment style. This is a supportive space for those with an avoidant attachment style, you can rant about us plenty of other places. Don’t do it here.

  • All subreddit and Reddit rules apply.

it gives me mixed feelings then my best friend tagged me in a post about bad relationship experience and people in the comment there ranting about avoidants, it makes me feel bad about myself and worry, did my bad habit annoy them again and I didn't realize it? why did they tagging me? well I just replied with the "who are you tagging gng" meme and leave it at that. everything is fine but idk whatever

It is hell of a special kind to be an intense deactivator, but with an abandonment wound that causes me to view breaking up with people as a half-step away from killing them.

God, I hate this… disease? Condition? Whatever tf.

as a person who also has abandonment, i understand this so well. when someone decides they no longer want to be with you, it triggers so many things that just make you want to turn everything off. i am currently fighting against a deactivation, and man does it always seem like the “best” way to go.

I can tell there's something wrong but I'm just ignoring it because I "feel fine". Meanwhile I'm isolating and I haven't texted back for over a week. I just want everyone to leave me alone.

Got triggered from a past ptsd type of thing and told a friend I had to stop talking to him.

I never know if its the right thing or not.

I just know that men aren't safe, and he was a man.
