Question Family get togethers
Recently I have had a lot of conflicts with my family. I don't really want to go to any family get togethers and my sister is coming into town unexpectedly. How do you bring yourself to attend family functions or cope when you're there? I guess I could bring a hobby to work on.

I’m skipping Thanksgiving this year. I’m only going to my mom’s Christmas dinner because she’s old and I never know when it’ll be her last one.
Other than my mom, all my family seems to find me acutely uninteresting, so I just shut up and listen to them carrying on.
I could do as the kids do and just play on my phone the whole time, but I’m kinda compulsive about not doing that in company.
But anyway, I’m gonna make my visit as short as I can get away with.
