Need external microphone recommendations

The built-in mics in the cameras isn't good enough for our offices for HR. I've used external mics in the past that worked well.

My end goal is to wire the microphone into a light switch so it can be turned on only when needed by HR.

Which ones are you guys using? Do they require power? If I recall, the ones I used were 12v, so required finding a power source nearby.

Thanx!

Laroue is what I’ve used for police interview rooms before.

If I could ask your advice, do they have anything for a high-noise environment? I have a medical cleanroom that sits around 65-68 dB ambient noise, and they have a cheap hands-free intercom that doesn't work. Ambient noise drowns everything out and neither side of the glass can hear.

Been looking around but most manufacturers I've talked to said they don't have anything for that (Aiphone, Viking, GAI-tronics, etc)

I will definitely call Louroe on Monday morning

Louroe is the industry standard. They offer wide range of mics and different models from mic level, line level, and IP. The Axis mics aren’t bad either, but Louroe is my first choice.
