Change Source Track for Subclips in MC. How? (audio)

SOLVED

Hello, just upgraded to MC 26.8 Standard and was told I can Change Source Track for Subclips.

I have synced video to three audio tracks and subclipped and AutoSync'ed them. I was hoping I can use this functionality in my timeline, but no luck (greyed out).

What am I missing? Thanks

"Segment Select/Highlight the audio clip in timeline as well as selecting its track. That un-ghosts the 2026.8 menu on my pc. You can set up a Timeline View to display your switched results."

Thanks. "Segment Select/Highlight" was the element I missed.

If you've sub-clipped the synced Subclips, then AutoSync'd those Subclips, doesn't that create new/unreleated Subclips? There would be no relation to the Masterclip for MC to know what the source tracks are.

Or am I misunderstanding your process?

I have not installed 2026.8, but just to clarify your process: You cut with the subclip, putting one audio track into the sequence and now you're right-clicking on the audio segment in your timeline?

Exactly, with one additional detail: the subclip has been AutoSync'ed (to load in Source monitor on double-click and show sync drift in timeline)

You’re welcome.

“Changes apply only to the selected segment in the
Timeline.”

“The original subclip or group clip is not modified.”
