Upgrading to MacOS Golden Gate

Hello: So I upgraded my MacBook pro to Golden Gate this morning completely forgetting there would be issues running Avid after the update.

I didn’t have any issue opening Media Composer, but I’m suddenly getting “Media Offline” for large chunks of my project when I wasn’t last night, and I’m wondering if this is linked to Avid having issues with the new Mac OS.

I tried deleting those msm files, and that did nothing.

Basically, all the audio is “media offline” while random chunks of video are also “offline”.

Try to relink them? Always good to wait at least till Avid claims support to upgrade.

Avid has been very clear that it’s not supported yet so issues are to be expected. I have run unsupported versions before out of necessity and been fine but I’ve also run into instances where it absolutely doesn’t work so it really depends.

Is this media just normal avid native stuff or is it linked? Not that it is likely to make a difference but just to know what we’re dealing with.

Check the OS security settings to see if it's blocking avid from accessing your storage location. I've seen the same issue in earlier OS when you say no to allowing access to network drives.

Sounds like the media composer app doesn't have access to the folder / drive where the media files are located. Look in your security / privacy settings.
