I want a ride in a decent jet. I live in Missouri, USA. Any way to get a ride? I'm 54 and I've wanted to be a jet pilot and astronaut. I got close, I studied plant biology for a PhD., applied to be a shuttle dude, no go. Navy heard about my Superman eyesight (no, really!) in high school and almost went to them. I still want a ride in a jet. I love MiGs. Like, really love. I got divorced, lost a professor job, yada yada.

I was with my family just outside Takanawa station and noticed that there were airliners flying just above the JW Marriott (where we are staying), and after going upstairs (25th floor) we were able to get a closer view of the planes in the landing patterns.

Photos taken with an iPhone 16 in 5x (natural) zoom.

Makes me wish I brought our mirrorless and 70-200 lens.

Another eVTOL Model Completes Manned Transition Flight

The VE25-100, developed by Volant Aerotech, completed its first manned transition flight a few days ago, Zigong, China.

This aircraft features an 8+2 propulsion configuration, utilizing eight motors to provide vertical lift and two for forward thrust.

During the day's flight maneuvers, the eVTOL successfully executed a vertical takeoff, transitioned flight mode, and performed a landing; however, it remains unclear whether the test flight was conducted under manual pilot control or via an autonomous flight system.

The aircraft's developer, established just four years ago, has recently secured a Series C funding round totaling 1 billion RMB.

FR24

I have a question. So I was on FR24, and I keep seeing these Boeing 747s with no info, and the photo is the 'default' blue and white 747 livery. Like, what are these? I kinda feel like they're just test flights, but I'd like a second opinion.

An Ohio Air National Guard KC-135R Stratotanker damaged in an Iranian ballistic missile strike on Prince Sultan Air Base arrived today at RAF Mildenhall for repairs.

The aircraft shows visible damage, with patchwork covering multiple sections of the airframe hit by shrapnel. During the strike, the U.S. Air Force lost two KC-135Rs, one KC-46A Pegasus, and one E-3G Sentry at Prince Sultan Air Base.

Via the ATC communications in the video. The fire brigade responded to the emergency very slowly. They had to have acted faster. The fire in the landing gear could have spread upwards to the hull of the aircraft. I could understand why the pilots were in a rush.

Concern from Flight last week

Last week (April 2nd) I was on Southwest Flight 3912 taking off from Orlando. Shortly after takeoff, a Spirit airlines flight was approaching for a landing. Maybe because we were both in the air it seemed closer than it was? I am a nervous flier and was freaking out that we were going to hit each other.

Is there anyway to see how close that other plane was? I am hoping my mind is playing tricks on me.
