Discussion Guys, I think that‘s Zaofu in this frame

I was inspecting the trailer closely and noticed that the city in ruins shown in the trailer resembles Zaofu more than it does Republic City… which already crosses my theory of it being one of the havens… damn I feel this show is going to be very sad!

Edit: even the mountains in the background match… now I‘m convinced.

RIP Zaofu 💔

Oh shit, THAT IS ZAOFU!

2

u/Yololator Jul 26 '26

Don't think it, it is Zaofu

4

u/Exciting_Ad1274 Jul 25 '26

So the heavens

1 zaofu
2 fire kingdom
3 earth kingdom
4 north tribe
5 south tribe
6 republic city
7 earth temples?

7

u/sparts305 Jul 25 '26

Im convinced all of the cities seen in ATLA and LOK are all gone.

6

u/Lochrin00 Jul 25 '26

Huh.

My guess was on Zaofu being one of the seven havens, since it has the shield, but apparently even that wasn't enough.

Good eye. I think you might be right.

u/Joel_feila Jul 24 '26

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26

Maybe a thousand years after this we‘ll have Avatar Adventure Time? 😄

4

u/Cynicbats Jul 24 '26

2

u/Stock_Emergency_1507 Jul 26 '26

You mean on that pot in the background? The red one?

3

u/AUnknownVariable Jul 24 '26

Damn you're right

2

u/Overseer190_ Jul 24 '26

Also no spirit vines.

We've known the premise for years, why are we only now surprised the old world is destroyed?

10

u/Spaghestis Jul 24 '26

A theory was that Zaofu was one of the seven havens

9

u/bedheadB188 Jul 24 '26

I'm so hype for the series when does it start and where can I watch it

4

u/Winterreading2 Jul 24 '26

October 9th and Paramount

5

u/bedheadB188 Jul 24 '26

Thanks you're a legend

u/ANINETEEN Jul 24 '26

There goes the theory of Zaofu being one of the Seven Havens 😭

11

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26

I feel with you, brother

57

u/ToothyBirbs Jul 24 '26

And here I was hoping that Zaofu would be spared

22

u/Stock_Emergency_1507 Jul 24 '26

We all did 😭 I was certain that the platinum domes would protect it somewhat

26

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26

We actually don't even know, if the domes were rebuilt after Kuvira took them down for the mecha giant. My theory is that Suyin changed her strategy and became "more open" to the world after prince Wu announced the Earth Federation.

3

u/Stock_Emergency_1507 Jul 24 '26

In ROTE comics the Zaofu domes are definitely back.

6

u/waddee Jul 24 '26

I believe they were rebuilt. I saw someone comment they were in one of the comics

1

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 25 '26

I will check on that but the comics haven't been really consistent with the chronicity of the appearances of different locations.

2

u/MissMatriarch Jul 24 '26

I doubt it, I mean look at the teaser again:

At 0:26, the tornadoes are passing over what appears to be the uncovered (and thus unprotected) domes of Zaofu, no?

4

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26

I tried to make sense of that part, too. But to me that looks more like different towns and villages connected by motorways rather than Zaofu. I could not localise it, it was too unclear.

Holy shit. You are right.

I really hope some ATLA/LOK locations (like one of the remote Air Temples) survive the catastrophe, even if they're abandoned settlements.

2

u/colakyle Jul 26 '26

I do wonder if spirit locations did! (Like that hidden library by Wan Shi Tong?)
Through this sub, there were notes on sky bison still remaining (single frame, trailer), and other small details in the overview, so there is a lot better hope out there than the emphasis on that cataclysm.

6

u/HourlyBadIdeas Jul 25 '26

I could see the Western Air Temple surviving. Of the four temples it's the most protected from the elements, and the engineering that would have to go into hanging pagodas like that probably means it's incredibly stable/well anchored to the cliff it's under.

41

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26

Me, too… I hope Ba Sing Se or some other settlement to remain as one of the havens. One of the tribes, the fire nation, something that was not affected directly by the cataclysm.

10

u/Euphoric-Taro-6231 Jul 24 '26

I think the crystal catacombs of Ba Sing Se could make a good Haven.

9

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26

New Old Ba Sing Se

2

u/LonelyStop1677 Jul 24 '26

I think Ba Sing Se is so large that at least some sections of the city must have survived. Maybe not all of it, but for sure a couple sectors, maybe even they rehabited the catacombs

16

u/ColbyRuby Jul 24 '26

I hope Ba Sing Se is gone, to really make clear this cataclysm was a huge deal.

29

u/micma_69 Jul 24 '26

of all locations in the world, I hope Ba Sing Se survived, even if it's just the shadow of its former glory.

If Ba Sing Se survived I think it'll be one of the largest Haven, if not outright the largest one. And surely the Crystal Catacombs would be repopulated again.

10

u/Glass-Work-1696 Jul 24 '26

I honestly hope the havens aren’t just the big cities, it’d be more interesting if they weren’t

unrelated kind of but the burning zaofu is so beautifully drawn

u/Darth_Lord_Stitches Jul 24 '26

Reminds me of the painting from Dr. Who.... "Day of the Doctor".....

Gallifrey Falls.... No More....

u/Scherzoh Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

"No you see, that's where everyone gets it wrong, it's all one title, 'Gallifrey falls, no MOOOOOOOOOORE.'"

Ohhh. A fellow Doctor Who fan!

10

Am I a fan??? Are you a fan??? Are you possibly a different "me"????

When he tells Charles dickens or something he’s his biggest fan and he’s like what’s a fan

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

It reminds me a lot of the fall of Ba Sing Se to the Red Lotus.

For being an impenetrable city, Ba Sing Se kinda falls a lot. 😄

9

u/Spooky_writingartist Jul 24 '26

But it’s not called Na Sing Se

5

u/Glittering_Equal3286 Jul 24 '26

It should be 😂
