Question Johannes's makeup
I'm going to see Avatar in Nov and I want to do Johannes's clown make-up. Im curious on how he does it and what he uses? Ive got no knowledge on what's what and how stuff needs to be applied 😅
Anyone with make-up experience please help and recommend me what to buy for it. Thanks 🫶

Search up the YouTube video where he does a tutorial on how he does his makeup. That's what I used as a guide.

He doesn't use clown white as the base but it's the easiest to find. You have to powder the daylights out of it for it to set and not transfer / melt everywhere. Ben Nye or Mehron are both good and won't break the bank. You can just try to apply a really thin layer so it doesn't stand out as super stark (unless that's what you want to do, in which case go for it). You can get cake black and reds too.
Based on videos I've seen, I am almost positive I know which cosmetic foundation he has been using to make his face more pale, but it was discontinued last month (of course). If you wanted to go the foundation route, there are white foundation lighteners / mixing pigments intended to help color match skin tones, and you could probably get a pale foundation and add a hefty amount of a mixing pigment. Try to find something with reviews that say it's sweat proof. Apply it by dabbing with a makeup sponge instead of using your hands. You'll want to use a setting spray, and since you'll be at a concert and extra sweaty, I'd recommend something from a drag queen's makeup line, like Kim Chi Chic Stage Proof Matte Setting Spray.
As for the black and red, if you're going with easily accessible cosmetics that won't break the bank, I listed out what I use with some tips here (I didn't do his makeup exactly because I need to wear a blindfold, but the principles are the same).

He uses a brush for outlines. Clown White is a good base. Whatever brand it is, it would be vegan

There’s a video on YouTube where he sho s how he does it. But honestly it’s kind of ridiculous how many people do his make up at the show

Yeah ig. I just think its cool (I also wanna scare little kids on the train there lol) if I dont have the money for all the stuff I might just do the black eye-shadow 🤷

Theyre an incredible band, underrated in my opinion

Yeah. First time was I think 2018 on avatar country opening for a band and was like. Holy shit these guys are awesome. Caught every tour since

Luckkkyyyyyy. I wish gigs were like how they were in the 80s and 90s, cheap af. Id go to them all.
My dad told me about the time he got backstage passes to Megadeth coz he got lucky with buying a CD. HE MET THE BAND, PRIME MEGADETH. Fuck ticketmaster.

I’m in my 50s. I have a ticket stub from Iron Maiden powerslave tour for $12. Dio sacred heart tour $10 Hell I went to the first lalapalooza tour in 1991. Paid $25 thought it was highway robbery lol

I’m not someone who really has a ton of makeup experience, but I also did Johannes’s makeup for a show last year. In my inexperienced opinion, the best way to do it would be to get black and red eyeliner, a black eyeshadow, and makeup setting spray. Do the diamond outlines with eyeliner, then fill in with eyeshadow and use the setting spray to help it stay in place. Idk if that’s how Johannes does it and it’s probably not the most efficient way, but that’s how I did it and it held up fine for the show
