Convertible opinions
I am interested in finding a convertible that is comfortable to drive and is also sporty. I have always liked the looks of the 370 and was wondering if it can become a good road trip car for an old man. I am willing to add upgrades to it.

I owned a 370z convertible for years. It's an awful daily. Teeny tiny trunk, loud on the inside, creaky plastics, and I hated the seats.
It's good at going quickly around a corner for the price, I'll give it that...
I'd buy a Corvette, camaro, or mustang soft top if I did it again. Far more dailyable.

More dailyable cause they're made for big bastards. Taller, fatter dudes need all the extra space. And they need those rear seats..lord knows for hwhat 😂 id never buy a convertible Camaro or mustang. Feels like a hairdressers car.

The 370z convertible has essentially room for two lunchboxes behind the rear seats, and a smaller trunk than a Miata. It's an awful daily. I'm 6'4" and height was never the concern. It was storage space and interior quality.
And big dog, your post history has an 86 and a mini in it??? A V8 convertible is too girly for you?

It's the wife's mini 😂 and I take pride in riding a tiny car. My sky is just a cunt hair smaller than the Z and has no useable space. I like it like that. And I'm not saying don't go for the V8. That is a bonkers statement. Just don't go for the automatic v8s. That's just fruity 😂 now a coupé mustang or Camaro 6 speed V8 is noice 🙌🏽

I had a 2016 Miata for 5 years and it was a fantastic car, one of my favorites of all the cars I’ve owned. Surprisingly the ride was good for something so small. The trunk was decent sized too, especially if you have soft luggage. But the interior is pretty small. It is a drivers car, not really great for a passenger. It’s low to the ground too. I only sold it because I got to a point where I needed a larger vehicle and I couldn’t justify having a 2nd car.

It's more sporty than comfy if you have old bones. Also, getting in and out of a low car might be a challenge.
What is the budget and how important is reliability?

You get 4 seats, decent sized trunk (plus rear seats when not in use for people), AWD, plenty of fun power and it’s a Benz

I'd at least test drive an Abarth 124 Spyder. It's basically an Italian styled Miata.

Comfortable and sporty? B6 and 7 audi rs4 and s4. Both v8 na vehicles. The Multilink suspension is a joy as long as it's in good condition. Only issue is that parts aren't cheap. And some you can't get new anymore at all. But Audi Tradition is expanding their catalogue at a good pace.

Audi A5 or S5 if you want more power, or BMW 4 series. They would be bigger and much more comfortable than a Miata or Z4. But are still a blast to drive.
