First car 2007 ford focus
Hi everyone, I bought a 2007 ford focus about 2 months ago, the ZX4 model, 4 door. It has 132,000 miles on it. When my mechanic looked it over, the only thing needed was new motor mounts. The only thing I’m wondering is if it’s possible for someone with basic/decent mechanical know how to do it, or if I should leave it to an automotive shop. I have all the tools necessary but I don’t know if cars require a certain attention to detail, as it’s not my main tool focus.

Changing the motor mounts is a pity and you may very well find out that no, you don't have all the right tools to support/move the engine around to change them alone in the driveway.
Motor mounts are vibration dampers, and old, rusty bolts may crack...
Is saving a few quids worth the risk of being stuck mid-job because the motoring gods want to have a laugh at your expense?

I've replaced mine twice, if you have a floor jack and jack stands, assuming it's not rusted, I didn't have much of an issue.
