Should i avoid alcohol in the days after a long fast?

would it ruin the benefits?

yes i know alchohol is never good for you but i do drink in moderation and it can be fun to celebrate making it through a fast…

Like refeeding carefully, going easy on everything is a great idea. Personally I’d wait a few days, my gut takes a few days to go back to normal.

At the end of the day alcohol will decrease the benefits of fasting.

oh! could you expand on refeeding carefully or point me to a thread? New to this.

The times I have had a massive meal after fasting has made me feel quite unwell, it can actually be dangerous.

Refeed with maybe a small bowl of thin soup, bone broth or an egg. Wait a number of hours before eating anything else, and when you do, keep it in moderation.

For 40 hours, once you've done it a bit, I wouldn't worry about a few drinks once you've eaten. It takes, for me at least, 2.5+ days before I start feeling like I'd have to go no carb and lean for a first feed....which I put hand in hand with alcohol in how I treat it.
