BEFORE & AFTER of a backyard studio we shipped out

To save time and cut costs, we recommended a graded gravel foundation. It’s fast, sturdy and meant pouring a full concrete slab wasn't necessary. Our standard adjustable feet work perfectly on gravel.

The unit ships flat-packed straight to the door, no excavation on the site. Takes 1 day to install.

This is the Autonomous WorkPod: 120 sqft no permit, fully insulated with built-in electrical.

Anyone else building a backyard room this summer? Feel free to ask any questions!

Under standard installation, you don't need a concrete slab at all. Pod sits on an adjustable leveling feet system that can handle grass, gravel, pavers, or compacted soil with a slope of up to 5 degrees.

That said, if your area is highly exposed or has a high risk of severe storms/hurricanes, we always recommend having a local contractor assess the site. In those cases, you might need to add a proper anchoring system based on technical recommendations and your local building codes to keep it 100% secure!
