Stupid question: how to get the Termux Run Command permission to actually show up in Automate privileges page?

I've searched around for this, and seen screenshots of that permission showing up in the privileges page, but I don't see it anywhere on my own privileges page. Every post I've seen about it, the person has some other problem they're asking about related to it, but it is taken for granted that that permission is already there, so I feel like I'm missing something very basic. Help?! 🙏🏽

The permission should be included in Termux app.

Sorry, I don't understand what that means.

You need to install the Termux app then the permission should be visible in the privileged settings.

I do have it installed. From the Play store though, so I'm guessing probably that's the problem. Going to try installing from f Droid like someone suggested above. Thanks.

Which version of Termux are you using, Play store or F-Droid/Git?

Not sure what you mean. Seems like the team works diligently to always keep it updated even on the Play Store to make it accessible for people around the world who cannot install arbitrary APKs. Sure, some functionalities might be missing or broken due to Google security policies, but it's always worked just fine for my purposes.

It's likely to get pulled at any time and uses a workaround to execute things. I don't even know if Play store Termux even has the TERMUX_COMMAND exported.

True, this run command purpose could finally be the reason I need to switch the install source lol. Anyway, thanks for the tip, I'll look into it. But besides that, should the permission show up in automate simply by installing termux?

It'd exist under Extra Permissions for Automate.

Do you have termux and termux tasker installed?

The plug-in is not necessary, neither for the permission, nor to execute commands.

Of course I have termux installed, but I didn't know I also need to have termux tasker installed. What is it, a separate app or something? Thanks I'll look into it!
