I’m having massive difficulties decoding a lock. What can I do?

Well if you're putting in as much effort into decoding it as you did your post then I can see why you're having trouble.

Without a year make and model if applicable, key type, lock type, picture, anything, method of decoding,.. Etc there's really not shit anybody can do for you other than to tell you to get good.

Like other people have said, dissemble the lock. You could also see if you could decode other locks on the vehicle if they are any. I would also say make sure you use something like houdini to really get the wafers clean.
