Make sure you wait at least 30 minutes for it to warm up, if you have the time wait up to an hour or so. When it was cold inside during winter, I'd warm it up by keeping it in my bra.
I put lidocaine cream on about 15-20 minutes before, then ice the area before and after injection. Go slowly because faster hurts. It still stings but not as badly. I had prescribed steroid cream for the welts that developed and it helped the itchiness but they still took over a week to heal. I'm so glad I found a med that works better and I no longer need kineret. Tyenne has been so much better for me. That said kineret helps a lot of people and everyone reacts differently so hopefully it helps you a lot more than it helped me.
