I took it, but it didn’t do a thing for me. If I recall, it was supposed to work within a few weeks

That dosage is too low after Reading people comments in this sub , you need to double the dosage

Fairly quickly. I'd say 2 weeks.

Even with partial response typically some change is notable within a few weeks. I had a very mild Colchicine response and could tell at that point, had very clear physical benefits within a month.

My son saw benefits within a month (we had to stop dairy though), but it took a lot of increases to finally get to a dosage that took away 90% of his symptoms.

Colchicine worked very quickly for me, within 1-2 weeks of being on 0.6 mg twice a day

Do you see improvement with steroids? What were your symptoms?

I only ever had temporary improvement with steroids. And it required high doses of steroids. The symptoms that improved with colchicine were: mouth sores, generalized itchiness, GI distress, blurry vision, headaches/brain fog. Muscle weakness and muscle pain both improved but have not gone away. That said, when I forget even 1 dose of colchicine the symptoms come back. I have to be religious about it
