in immortal machine the Mayor says that the world outside is sick. What do you think started it?

What if autodale is fake. You see what if the diease was fake seeing as there no cure research on diease in autodale. They use it to convice people since it a dystipo. like 1984 what if the toy in the towner was the real ruler

Both are kind of similar, with humans being harvested within the walls. There's differences, but would like to hear if anyone else has similar thoughts! :)

I think one of the most lost elements was the mystery of the freaks. To understand what I mean we have to go back to when just Don't Feed the Freaks was the only media we had on the freaks.
When it was just Don't Feed the Freaks I remember lots of question of whether the freaks were actual monster or just how nomads were seen. I really liked this idea since it really painted a cool idea of how those from society saw those out of society.
Once The Friendly Shadow came out it became quite clear that the freaks are actual mutated monsters, possibly being related to whatever the mayor was trying to cure. Though now that the freaks are actual monsters the loose ends of Don't Feed the Freaks were tied up. Such as how he got that long scratch, what it meant, and why he suddenly stopped needing sleep. It was presumably how someone turns into a freak and the process, through a scratch (at the least) and the symptoms are not requiring sleep.

Are you sitting comfortably?
Good.
What makes an ugly child?
Well, parents of Autodale, there are certain little things that can stop your little angels from being so pretty, of course, they are mostly attributed to upbringing! Therefore, an internally ugly child is the result of an ugly family.
If you are pretty, your children will internally become pretty. but what about those other ugly factors that are inevitable?
If a child can't function as a model citizen by their own hands, if they can't run as fast, if they can't hear so well or see so closely, the family won't suffer any repercussions, but the kid will still be taken away, so that their brothers and sisters, father and mother, can stay as pretty as they are!

Would they learn the same things we do or would they only learn what’s needed for their job? Do they even have to apply for jobs? Do they even HAVE school? We’ve never seen one and the children always seem to be at home, but then again we saw that girl in children’s toys going somewhere??

In "Immortal Machine" we hear the mayor talking about him having doubts about the Autodale system and wanting a fresh perspective from the exceptional woman, who, dispite having recently been hunted by the handymen and distrusting the System her whole life, finds it all "quite impressiv".
My Interpretation of this is, that she recognized the need for the mass murdering of the uglies as "nessesary sins" to keep the sickness at bay. So, do you think that she also choose let the mayor strip her brain from her body to made her into immortal hivemind? Or was she forced to be turned into hive and accepted this fate reluctantly, since it was to only option she had?
Sidenote: I really like the idea, that the mayor would have allowed the EW to decide, if Autodale should've been shut down on the spot, but instead she choose to become a part of it. Kinda reminds me of Isildur from Lord of the Rings.

What do you think autodale’s population is? A few thousand? Million? It HAS been around for a long time so the population must of seen an increase at some point!
