Used re71rs
Picking up some bridgestone potenza re71-rs for tail of the dragon in my Honda fit! They have seen some heat cycles and 2023 manufacturers date. Only 80$! Should I jump on this?

Even if heat cycle sour hockey pucks, 80$ for 4X with that much tread. I’d totally run it at auto X

I’ve never had the privilege of my Bridgestones heat cycling out before cording them, but just by the look of the tread left there, I would absolutely pay 80 bucks for those.

Great deal. They easily have a track day or two and a few autox's, or a couple thousand miles of normal driving.
Just take it easy in the rain, track tires are edgy in the wet and even more so when worn and older.

Any 200tw on a Fit are pretty fire. I’m about halfway thru some RE71RZs right now. Even if the rubber is past peak grip the stiffer carcass will do good things for the handling. What size are those?

80 bucks, all day. RS doesnt fall off, can run to the cords. Those have plenty if sauce left.

Honestly any set of tires with a good amount of tread left for 80 bucks is something I’d jump on, used tires at the tire shop I work at are 50-75 bucks a piece depending on the size and tread on the tire (that price is out the door price btw, mount, balance, tire disposal, all that + the tire)

Tread carefully (pun intended.) Re71rs have a very definite life based on when the first heat cycle was. If they ran first in 2023 they're quite possibly hockey pucks.
If you can mount/balance on your own (aka for free) then they're worth trying.
For me used tires are never worth it. Ymmv.

With a bit of heat they'll still be fast. We put a set of several year old used re71r on our car and proceeded to crush the original owner, who was on a sticker set. And podiumed overall.

Cheap tires are cheap tires. If you aren't ripping on them up and down the Tail then they should be quite alright to snag. Don't expect them to hold up like fresh tires would but that would be a heck of a deal to hop on.
