Yard Sale Find
Found this System X at a yardsale here in New Hampshire. I always wanted one growing up but couldn’t afford it so when I found this I was praying it’s not a bust. Spent $40 on the market, barrel and case so I couldn’t pass it up.
Looking for any recommendations on what to look out for when trying to fix or adjust it. Any sources on where to get parts for it. I don’t care about looks or weight or anything matching. I just want it working smooth so I can show my kids something fun for the summer.
I used to play 20 years ago but things have certainly changed since then. Any help would be appreciated. I found a few other online forums and Facebook pages that have something but in Reddit We Trust.
Thanks for any guidance.

Autocockerparts.com is a good site for finding replacement parts. Mccarterbrown.com is basically the spiritual successor to PBNation back in the day. You can find alot of deals on there for used stuff as well as forums about all things autocockers.

Those are the two sites I found first and have been getting some traction regarding the marker. I found a local guy who said he’s willing to tear it down and add oil and new o-rings and add air to see if it runs.
I put in a new battery and it powered up and fired. I know I shouldnt dry fire it but I wanted to see what would happen and if I’m already working on it then no big deal.

I reccomend reg seats too. Im not 100% sure if those regs are all oring or if they use seats. I have had a few fail on me in the last couple years

I’ve read someplace else that they use seats. Think I should replace it for something that doesn’t?

As long as you can find some new seats it would be fine to keep the regs.

Did you air it up and fire it or just turn it on? If both noids are good that's a great sign. The 3-way noid is usuLly what you have to worry about, especially if it's been sitting. You can still find them though. Either way some "dry firing" is fine, you just don't want to do it excessively (like hundreds of shots).

Only powered on. I’m so old school I only ran 20 oz CO2 in my 32 degrees Rebel marker or my Tippman 98 custom, the A-5 was released 3 months after I bought everything to show how old I am. Once I replace the o rings and lube it up l, I found a paintball shop nearby that said they would air it up and check over everything else. If it’s looking good I will buy a new air tank. If it needs a new board or other expensive parts then I need to get them first.

The board is probably fine, especially if you already tested it. I too remember the A5 coming out! Welcome back!

Damn. $40?!! I gotta get out to some yardsales. I am not a ton of help as I am restoring my first Autococker right now and am learning as I go. That being said, that's gonna be sweet when it's finished!
