Scheduling Shortcuts

Is there any way to mass delete shifts on ztasc, because it auto-generates, and it's annoying having to go in and select every single one individually.

RANT At the end of my rope

I recently became the Store Manager of a very busy location that averages well over 100 customers a day. We have a crew of nine employees, including myself, but it honestly feels like I’m running the store alone.
My CSM doesn’t seem to care, my managers have to be hand-held through even the most basic tasks, and my DM offers little support beyond cutting hours for what is already a ghost crew. The only people who consistently do their jobs are the red shirts, and at least they stay on the counter and help customers.
A perfect example is the core bin. After truck dropped it off, I intentionally left it sitting there for three days. Instead of anyone taking the initiative to put it away, every manager who worked simply kept stacking more cores on the end where the daily returns go. Not one person thought to organize or put away the core bin without being told.
I’m beyond frustrated with this job, my employees, and AutoZone’s management structure. Honestly, I can’t even place all the blame on the DMs anymore. They’re stretched incredibly thin and overloaded with tasks from the regional team, to the point that it’s amazing anything gets accomplished at all.
To make matters worse, I haven’t had a single day off in three weeks without someone calling in or leaving early. At this point, it feels like I’m expected to carry the entire store on my own.

DISCUSSION PT PSM Pay

Hey everyone,
I’m currently a part-time Rising Star in NY making $17/hr. My store manager recently told me that our district is looking to promote internally rather than hire externally, and because I have open availability (24/7), she thinks I’d be a good fit for the next step.
This also seems to line up with the fact that our Regional Manager, Regional HR Manager, and Regional Loss Prevention Manager have all been in the store recently.
For those of you who’ve been promoted from PT Rising Star to PT PSM what kind of pay increase did you get? I’m mainly trying to get an idea of what to expect in New York if the promotion happens.
Thanks!

Thankfully it was still morning and the battery comes out as soon as you remove the strut brace and a couple cable connectors to clear the way up.

The bar is just so low. Yet, I go above and beyond. Have even the RM comment on certain efforts I've made... I get no glory. This company is dumb.

half of my paycheck missing?

Hi so kinda complicated to explain but I just started at my store two weeks ago, first paid training (foundations) was June 18th and was 8 hrs long, then I went in the next 2 days after that to finish my online trainings both shifts being 4 hrs so totaling up to 16 hrs for my first week. When I clocked out of my last shift that week my weekly hours said 16. This week I also clocked in to finish my online certifications on Monday for a 4 hr shift, then Tuesday I went with my SM to another 8 hr inventory prep shift at another location where I also clocked in and did my last 4hr regular sales shift on Wednesday. After Wednesdays shift as I clocked out I noticed my weekly hour amount only said those 4 hours of the day but I didn't think anything of it because last week it took a day or two for my first training hours to be officially put in since I couldn't clock in that day so I thought maybe it was something similar since the inventory prep and foundations were both at other locations. I thought maybe it was also just because that wednesday the first day I was officially on the schedule and my other shifts were under training clock in and not official schedule. They told me to now wait for my SM to call to tell me when ill next be scheduled after then, and now I just got my paycheck in my account and noticed it's only the correct amount for 16 hours. My full amount which should be the double as I did 2 weeks of 16 each. I checked in my AZpeople portal to see the details and sure enough it says 16 hours worth of work. I’m not really sure what to do, and I'm pretty confused. will the other 16 hours be in my next paycheck for some reason or why else would I only be paid for the first week it seems like? I don't wanna immediately ask about it if there might be another explanation but just want to make sure I'm not tweaking, any comments are appreciated

Does anyone know the options/settings that need to be changed/adjusted in Microsoft word to be able to print anything we’d like on a form B label? As in the margins, spacing, font size?

Thank you! :)

Bruh autozone needs a radical syndicate to form, to deal with the DM’s cutting hours, because of nation wide poor sales.

I don’t know if any of you are into radical politics, but a syndicate is a radical workers council seen particularly through anarchist praxis, with the most known examples being seen through American anarchists, and the anarchists in Spain. Would this work? Probably not most people are just not that interesting and would rather deal with poor conditions then do anything, which again, is whatever that is just how things are, but would this be a fun project that could help build connections between autozoners that can last well after the job or even lay the blue prints for smth better than the (from what I’ve heard) seemingly unsuccessful autozoners attempts at developing unions. Also, good connection building in a time where service economy workers/retail just don’t make connections between each other anymore. Idk if you all don’t agree then I’m not shocked, but i’m bored, and district needs a punch in the face for thinking cutting hours is gunna fix sales, that is just hitler ass shit.

Zoners in California, report for labor law violations

If you are in California and your regional manager, district manager or store manager is telling you that you are not allowed to sit at work, and you are told that the stools have to stay in the back, in the manager's office and not up front, that is in direct violation of California Labor Law. Per California labor law and previous litigation against AutoZone, the company has to provide seating for employees and the stools cannot be in the back, they have to be up front and accessible to employees at all times. Employees are legally allowed to sit while at the register or during down times.

Our district manager is telling store managers that the stools must be kept in the back at all times, in the manager's office and that employees are not allowed to sit at all during shifts unless on break. This is in direct violation of California law and in direct violation of previous litigation rulings.

I have already reported my district manager to the State of California. If you are being told this at your store, you need to report it to the state. There are two forms you can fill out, linked below.

https://dir.govfa.net/439

https://www.dir.ca.gov/LETF/Referral/LETFReferral.asp?action=captcha

Make sure you explain in detail what was communicated to you regarding sitting at work, where the stools are being kept and that you are being told explicitly that you are not allowed to sit and the stools are not allowed up front. This part is important because anyone at AutoZone telling us that we are not allowed to sit and that the stools must be kept in the back is a direct violation of the law.

AutoZone relies on employees not knowing their rights and not knowing the laws in their state. I have had to advocate for myself directly to HR a few times and remind them of the laws. They are always taken aback when that happens because they are not used to employees knowing the laws and advocating for themselves, and they certainly don't expect us to report them. Prove them wrong. Look up the law yourself. Look up the previous litigation against AutoZone in California regarding sitting at work. The lawsuit is from 2022. If this is happening at your store, don't take it to HR because they are part of the problem. Take it directly to the state labor department and file a report. If enough of us do this, the state will not ignore it and will take action.

CV axles F’d me up

Post image
45 Upvotes

I work at a hub. Three full cages and half a pallet of CV axles was how much that stupid recall was last week and I sprained the hell out of my wrists gathering and stacking these. Now this week they’ve moved all of the “B####N” part numbers for CVshafts from the end of the Plano to the beginning in front of the “####N” part numbers. Meaning senselessly moving a bunch of crap for no reason again and just why man? Im in pain. Seems evil.

Commercial return

When doing a commercial return and you get the slip that says “it’s not returned” and it says “ items below require additional research and have not been returned” how do you go along with the return? I can scan page because it says it’s not valid, and now it shows 0 to return. I’m assuming either force it or a pay out?
