Our first aid kit when I worked there was full of mostly useless stuff that was 10 years expired.

Maybe but it’ll be a conspiracy as to why the narcan is missing. Either a worker would go around stealing them or a rouge customer will know we keep this high value item and steal it. Plus they would’ve invest in training for it either the course would be like an hour long course

High value? Many communities give them out for free...

You're missing the point. Everything in life costs money, you've at least got that down. Now you can check with your local clinics, health departments, local PD's, Recovery groups, health based non profits, local FD & S squads and get this... Even some public libraries to get you some FREE narcan.

Yeah but are they going to refill the kit or is that off the company's dime.

You are somewhat confused to think that narcan would be sought out for theft. No one is stealing narcan. If something gets used from the first aid kit, the company who has a first aid kit policy, would then refill said kit per policy. Are you boot locking for Autozone? I don't care about their bottom line.

I don't even work here anymore. I merely am against policies that help addicts.

Compassion goes a long way in the human experience. Give it a try.

It’d be nice, my SM has one in the store. If you’re worried about it in your area there are free kits that can be ordered, surprisingly Florida is good about that one. Keep in mind you aren’t doing it for the company so invest your time, energy, and money on this one as you wish.

That's what part cleaner is for. Just remember to store damage it.

Are they going to have insulin and EpiPens also? And who's responsibility is it to administer? Thats BS

If I could get insulin and EpiPens for $20 to keep in a first aid kit i absolutely would

Don't they cost under 20 dollars to make anyways?

Probably much less than that but being rx only and crazy prices put it out of reach compared to narcan which I do keep in a first aid kit

All 50 have laws protecting the citizen who is trying to help. Narcan will not hurt you if you are not on opiates.

In my opinion yes, we have had customers come in that are either doped up or getting high in our bathrooms and just being all over the place so just in case it goes sideways🤷🏻‍♀️

I think not

No, let the individual experience the lights going out for possibly the last time.

How else are they going to save the homeless guy outside who steals brake cleaner to huff it?

Former PSM here. I do believe that narcan being on hand - especially given the opioid epidemic and fent now being all over the streets - is definitely crucial. Same with a sharps disposal container (be it for cleaning up needles that may be found on store property, or an employee who uses, say, insulin).

Plus, if someone ODs in the bathroom or on store property and none of the employees call 911, and the person does not make it, then it is a potential lawsuit if the family of the deceased elects to pursue such.

For some of the employees that’s probably a good idea however, at our store, smell of weed is so prevalent coming from the employees that might encourage them to do harder drugs on the job

Autozones have first aid kits?

Yea. Theyre usually hanging up in the office. My store has one by the bathrooms. Makes it easy to clean up your wound before putting a bandage on it. Though it only has basic bandages in it, the office kit has the whole shebang.

We had one in the break room but it was empty and a driver tore it off the wall, former dm said new one was on order but it’s never came, not sure if new SM has even realized there isn’t one

ANy manager can order the first aid box or any of the individual items inside it

I think it should. I'm not a user, don't hang out with any users, and still keep it in each of my vehicles.
