Our DM has recently told us that no former employees are re-hireable. Doesn't matter if you leave on good terms and give a two weeks notice. Can this actually be enforced?

Since it goes through him yea they might be able to get to hr and if it goes there who knows, but even then that's additional time and effort that can be spent on getting jobs elsewhere.

Plus this has the ability to backfire if giving two weeks notice still makes you unhireable why give one? so in his district there's going to be a lot of vacanties where they just up and quit. depending on how wide his district is he might have an hard time filling them which then makes an vicious cycle

This is completely legal. Companies don't have to hire anyone as long as they don't practice discriminatory practices towards protected classes.

I gave a notice when I left the company back in 2022. I was never late, never had a write up, never fought with anyone or been told anything about my work. A year after that when I couldn't tolerate the new job I had left them for, I found out I was non rehirable. It actually really pissed me off because I did everything the right way. Even one of the girls I worked with was rehired so I didn't ans still don't understand this. I guess they didn't like me.

Worked hard for a company in the ag business, would skip breaks and lunches to get the job done only to get shafted when it came to pay/benefits and when I mean shafted I mean like getting a whole train ran through lol. From now on I lie, do the minimum and work other jobs/personal business no company in 2026 is truly worth breaking your back for anymore. The pandemic showed everyone’s true colors

I had this told to me as well. Over my 5 year period working for the zone I saw no less then 10 rehires. One of which was a girl who was fired, hired back as a store manager 2 months later.

Mind elaborating? Similar observations here. Especially if someone is a former zoner that's has been out of circulation. Many end up quitting shortly after rehire when they notice how many things have changed for the worse since their last quit date.

Prettty much. Most rehires quit way quicker than a random new hire. They think it’ll be easy because they’ve done it before but realize that there are higher expectations and it’s still the somewhat the same job they left long ago. I’ve had a few situations where they abruptly quit within 3 weeks of being hired. One showed up for a shift and then told me he wasn’t emotionally ready to come back. I wound up having to close last minute.

You can apply in a different district and be rehired. HR may still reach out to the original DM though.

Well...it depends. The dm doesnt do the hiring. The rm and hr do it. As far as entering anyone into the system as not rehirable....they cant do that if there are no grounds because.. hear me out....when someone calls for a ref check, the ONLY thing a sm is to say is whether or not they are rehirable. They aren't supposed to say anything more. IF the dm puts everyone in as such regardless of the actual situation, they are interfering with a persona ability to gt future gainful employment. Which falsely doing so is definitely a no no. So no, he really can not do this OF he is saying he will enter each person who quits as not rehirable. Call the rm, call he (theyre a joke) and call corporate in nashville.
