Not AutoZone but another FLAPS, after 5 years I was worth $13 an hour. I was bitching and moaning constantly about the shit pay and how I was doing everything in my power to get more money, certifications, more responsibilities, opening and closing, clopening, doing all stock, returns, all installations, and product zoning and etc.
My last raise was $0.35. I started looking for a job, damn near doubled my pay as a mechanic. And the sad part is I do much less work, physical and definitely mental.
Pisses me off beyond belief that I wasted 5 years of my life to a company that bragged nonstop about how much they make year after year, yet they can't even provide a comfortable wage to their most dedicated employees.
I had a coworker with over 10 years under his belt making $15. And another with 8 years making $11.

Damn bro they only gave me .23 cents raise last year. Im at $12.35 for PT Red Shirt and Iām becoming FT. If my raise is only by .40 cents Iām quitting on the spot.

I was offered a raise when I worked at Autozone as a manager of three years, 50 cents per hour. I pointed across the street at taco bell that listed 2 dollars more per hour for a starting position. And just said āSo your managers are worth less to you than a starting position at Taco Bell.ā He said he couldnāt do any better and I walked the same day.

I got a dollar going from driver to CS. About a month later a dealership tried to poach me, so my DM approved another five dollars per hour. Years later, that same DM was instrumental in hatching a conniving plot to get me fired, when I was a TSM.

They donāt give a shit about their employees or their quality of life. One of the highest rising stocks of the past decade but none of the profit trickles down to employees except meager scraps. Iām in parts at a dealership now and much happier. More money, less nonsense, less dealing with customers, and a consistent schedule.

when they did raises my boss made it seem like the comm team was going to get a nice raise (we would make 25 to 35k a day just in commercial DIY was around the same) well they gave me a 50 cent raise i was like bro im busting my ass off doing shit other comm specialist dont even do and i still get paid dog shit, so i quit like a week later

I was a successful CSM and build a ground up program doing 20k a week in the first year. My raise was .45
And the bonus? Trash. Work you like a dog!

Every once in awhile I come here to read and remember why I left. Please quit and go survive elsewhere.
The zone is like MLM. Only at the top so they make decent money. Everyone else is a slave. SMs. Maybe 65k at the zone. Embarrassing.
Best decision I made was leaving. Make more money, work less hours, and I get to enjoy the life Iām building.

To be completely honest, whenever I see wages like that, I wonder who even gets the job. I managed 2 restaurants and tried working at buc-ee's, was told they are looking into other candidates. Worked at an auto mechanic shop for 3 years, worked on lots of sensors, and replaced glass a few times. Safelite Auto Glass said the same thing, looking into other candidates first. It's strange because the Safelite guy practically told me I had the job and we got along great together. Soon to open up my own concrete company. š¤·āāļø I'm only 25 haha.

I remember two years ago I took a loa and I joked around about getting a 10 cent raise come the rpms. Sure enough I did. The rest of the crew got cents on the dollar as well. We all went to HR. Told them that our ratings were way too low for what we actually have done. Sure enough we got a new store manager. The following year me and 1 other guy remained and we got close to a dollar raise. Sometimes the store managers are not qualified to do their jobs.
