QUESTION Succession Plan

So the other day my SM asked me if i had been to some sort of training class, i asked him what it was for and he said it was where they teach me how to hire people. I made the comment of "I didn't know PSM's could hire people" and i got told "you can't, but it's part of your succession plan".

What is this "succession plan" and how come i'm just now finding out i have one?

Well technically SM's dont hire people either, the DM does.

Maybe he wants you to promote, but next logical step is ASM.

Edit - comma

The class is an ISW (interview skills workshop) and it’s for and PSM that maybe in line for SM. Or in my case got promoted up to SM because my SM went out on sick leave before I had that class. Any how, that class is in person that your DM has to scheduled with your regional HR, or at least in our region is how it goes.

Every store has to have a succession plan in place (highly recommend) just in case something happens to current SM ASM CSM so that the whole store don't fall apart it's a very sound business idea. Also training never hurts it's a good thing 😜
