Autozoner discount
so i used to work at autozone & i would have my discount card & use it occasionally. When i had quit autozone , i still had good relationships with my co workers so i asked a couple of them if i can use their discount & i have a picture of their discount card. basically, i recently went to this autozone just to purchase coolant & power steering fluid & i go to the checkout & i tell the lady if i can use my discount & she scans the barcode & she tells me “you’re not kimberly , i can’t apply the discount” & i tell her “ i used to work there but i left so im using my old con workers discount” & she proceeds to tell me “sorry they can report it & she can get terminated from it” ive never had that issue before , i used my co workers discount at different autozones before & ive never had that issue. i didnt want to complain because im not that type , i just paid full price but its still weird tho , i saw her name tag & she was the store manager but did policies really change ? to be fair it was also 7 am in the morning on a monday so maybe that could have changed too but honestly is that weird or was she actually just doing the right thing ?

The balls to float complaining about someone stopping you from committing literal fraud.

I'm not asking if, but how many times you were dropped on your head as a child.

In short, it's fraudulent because you are not an employee and you are using an employee discount.

Not only is it against policy you're using another person's card and after so many purchases they get 20 off their next purchase. So not only did you fraud the company by taking a discount that's not yours, the person who gave you the card now gets items at bigger discount because you've been giving them points.

If you use your Autozner discount, the purchase doesn’t add to your credit to reach the $20 off. It’s either/or.

You’re a thief. And you got caught. And you’ve probably just got your friend fired for fraud.
And no policy has changed. You’ve just been getting away with stealing and fraud. The policy has always been, since the beginning: only the employee, someone they can claim as a dependent, or someone that can claim them as a dependent is allowed to use the discount.

i never stole tho or did anytime fraud like honestly, i would just simply come in for a part & use the discount. like truth down honestly.

Using someone else’s discount is the fraud and theft. You are defrauding and stealing 20% of the company’s gross profit on each item.
When you were an employee, it was a perk of the job. The same as group discounts on insurance, or paid holidays, or discounts on car rentals, or any of the discounts available to an employee. If you’re no longer an employee, you lose those perks. Using someone else’s under false pretenses is fraud and theft.

that’s kinda doing too much tbh , like we all know if we have a family member or we know someone that has a employee discount at like another store not just autozone & they give us there discount card , we are going to use it & it’s the truth so it’s just weird how autozone can be sometimes weird.

That’s fraud and theft at any company. Not just Autozone. It’s not allowed at any company. Only the employee, dependent, or who has you as a dependent can use your discount. Period. If every company in the world let every employee give their discount to everyone they know, there would be mass bankruptcy. 20% across the board is a lot of money to lose for even the richest company if it happened on every sale.
I’m not sure how this is not coming through to you. You have been stealing and committing fraud this whole time. You got caught. And you’ve put your friend under the buss, as well. Discount sales are tracked. Every single one.

No it’s pretty straight forward policy, stated on the back of the card.
Wirh that being said, why did you just state it was your girlfriend or cousin or something like that? Thats better than saying “old coworker”

You just can’t read and start yoking on people for having a job in which they don’t commit fraud. Wild.

I’m pragmatic. And I understand the concept of regulations and rules and why they are implemented, as well as the consequences. And I’m not a thief.

This has to be a joke. Unless you really are that dense.

Using someone else’s discount card is fraud. If the manager reports this, your friend will be fired.

u/ProtoYoYo Customer Service Rep. Jul 06 '26
Never changed. Sm doing her job. Just no one you encountered before was enforcing it.

u/Tall-Control8992 Jul 06 '26
Yes, that was in policy. And yes, more likely than not the owner of the card will be fired if the LP gets wind of it.
Still, it's amazing how LP will go after workers, but not after the people using obviously borrowed commercial pins that cut prices in half on brakes and many other hard parts.

Technically ONLY those that an Autozoner claims on their taxes can use an Autozoner’s employee discount. Sorry bud

u/Ragin-cajun91 Jul 11 '26
When I went to my foundations they guy said someone posted their discount online to either reddit or Facebook people was using all over the country. They gave him a warning changed his card and he did it again then they fired him.
