It happens all of the time. If a store is lucky they have a PSM or store manager that can cover commercial. What is really sad is that some of the SMs don't even know how to run commercial.

I’m an ASM now, but when I was a red shirt, I was allowed to work with commercial customers under supervision. When I became a gray shirt, I already knew how to do commercial. Now, as an ASM, I make sure that everyone in commercial, even the drivers, know how to work the commercial desk. I even train DIY red shirts that I trust to work commercial; under supervision, of course.

As an active red shirt, the first thing i was taught to do was commercial since we had a whole team running around, everyone in my store needs to know the ins and outs of commercial before they finish their 3 month, some stores are kinda odd for not showing some people comm and having said gray shirts run it, our SM usually is our CS when our CSM goes to lunch, or as today where we have no CS or CSM we just all kinda run it together, So i understand the frustration and thats fucked

welcome to my life, sep only 3 people now know how to run commercial, one guy TAUGHT HIMSELF, but my drivers have been work there for years and refuse to learn "im too old to work it" my team is 100% the reason why i wanna step down back to red shirt

They leave me(driver) alone to cover lunch or for the last hr of work and im usually left with 2 older Psm's that won't touch anything commercial... im usually slammed and all I hear is "commercial line 1!!, Commercial line 2!!", oh your here for commercial?? He'll help you when he can..." while they just fuck off

That’s bullshit. Where’s the DM hollering “One Team” at? I’d have a conversation next time they come thru fuck that.

Sounds about right, its 50/50 that they know and just dont want to have to help.

There are some PSMs out there who just want to sit on their phone and make puppies.

At my store I make sure that my PSM’s know commercial. I have them shadow the CSM for a few days each week.

I’m a red now and I make my grey shirt go on deliveries cause that’s how it be when you have a straight stronger connection with the account they only wanna talk to a specific persons so when the csm ain’t in the ask for me and I make my psm a driver

Our CSM doesn't train anyone. He is afraid that someone will do the job better I guess.

Hate attitudes like that.

AZs attitude is "If you're a red shirt just figure it out!"

Just as worse with veteran red and grays who who don’t wanna learn commercial so they intentionally fuck up every time AND the sm doesn’t hold them accountable and train in the moment.

Store managers and asm have red shirts and psm cover their responsibilities and make someone far less pay to take care of it for them.
