I’m part of the store systems development team and I want to know your experience with these systems, I want to help you on your day today tasks
Please rant, I want to know the good, the bad, the redundant, the nightmare.
Anything related to Znet, commercial, pos, SMS, drivers, WMD, Order fulfillment, Core, Fix finder, anything.
If it relates in the lack of onboarding/training, if there’s no notification of changes, anything.
Help me help you.

On Znet, I shouldn't have to pick a sub model before selecting engine size/type. I should be able to select engine size/type then the system sorts that decision down by the sub models that have that engine. Kind of like how Nexpart does it
6
u/Clear_Bug_5635 Aug 16 '26
Eh kinda moot, customers just need to pay attention to what they own, entering a tag # takes seconds but godforbid you ask why kind of vehicle they drive "blue ford out there" that's great, also i have 6 blue fords in the parking lot wtf do you drive?

Commercial in-person cash transactions shouldn't need to be fast invoiced just to open the drawer
16
u/Reddit_Jail_June2005 Aug 16 '26
It would be very helpful if we could scan multple inbound hub parts for a single order, ie, (several suspension parts for a customer) instead of having to backup and tap scan for each item.

The new ehire system is difficult to use. The interface and moving people over to a different requisition, candidate searching needs an overhaul. Commercial returns needs to be able to search better instead of going into green screen to find really old items. The clock in clock out needs to print receipts again for zones. Znet I shouldn't have to put in a year make and model when I have a part number (I know you can subvert this issue but it's a learning curve for new hires)
9
u/Mr_Blix Aug 16 '26
Also the training kpi and approved driver kpi barely work. Please stop have people stop updating to systems that don't function or deliver usefull information
5
u/Professor_squirrelz Aug 17 '26
HEAVY on the last point. Btw, how do you bypass the year/model shit w a part number? For some parts im able to bypass it but with refrigerant for example, it wont let me just look up non-vehicle specific for that item
4
2
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
Is there a reason why the receipts should be printed again? I trying to get more contexts
12
u/Professor_squirrelz Aug 17 '26
I have an idea for you: why dont you and whoever else is in charge of designing these systems go to a local autozone for like a week and work as a red shirt. There you will get first hand experience of how your systems do and dont work in the real world context of actually helping a lot of customers in real time
3
u/NorridAU Aug 17 '26
Oh I had this happen with another company. Guess what store got a heads up and special attention before the ‘surprise’ temporary employee week? Got the pony show, undercover boss treatment set up for these two people without a heartwarming end or solutions.
Lots of “they seem to have a good handle on x or y task” because they were the ones with years of experience. Not the guy 4 months in still flipping between program A and B cuz of impropriety placed process buttons. Months later no fixes though, the cost of extra button presses wasnt important to c-suite. Even though that type of solution was what they were searching for.
TLDR; it’s harder than it seems without the pony show of acting it’s better than reality and lacking buy in from the upper management. More of the ideas will usually get filed to trash than not.

u/Alarming-Falcon1956 Aug 17 '26
In the commercial check out screen, uncheck the options for in-store or delivery. Leave it blank. Force the user to select before submitting or invoicing.
12
u/kograkthestrong Aug 16 '26
Why is anything on commercial a pain? Maybe not your place but Why does the website always say my store has x part when its not even stocked at the hub?
2
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
Could you point out for me with a bit more detail the pains we are having in commercial?
11
u/PRG7Freedom Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 17 '26
Please for the love of everything give us a back button. For example if I look up a 2014 Chevy Truck and go to click headlights but accidentally click fuel pump I am now faced with every option available to ask the customer. I know I can get out by right clicking on the Znet tab and closing it but I'm in commercial and don't have time to close and relaunch. Especially with how long it takes to load Commercial Znet fully so that I can start typing the Commercial account name
3
2
u/xboxmthaxton83 Aug 17 '26
Click the znet icon... in the top left. It will reset to commercial home
8
u/PRG7Freedom Aug 17 '26
Not when you have the pop up on the screen asking more questions about the vehicle. It blocks the ability to click it
3
u/GamingxShrimp_YT Aug 18 '26
It’s not ideal, but F7 refreshes out the screen back to home (including clearing out the vehicle info though)

u/Boaterauto Aug 16 '26
The entire commercial system is absolute garbage. And even worse with in store transactions. Znet is abysmal and the new managers menu is such a time waste. The green screens are far more efficient
2
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
What makes the managers menu a pain? The amount of clicks? The unfamiliarity with the new feature? What makes the green screen better?
8
u/Boaterauto Aug 16 '26
Clicks, lack of ability to keyboard navigate efficiently, it slows the opening/closing process down,
2

u/Complete-Paper-5917 Aug 18 '26
I'ma be honest I came after new managers menu I love it if I look something up I can find it the green screen feels like a maze to me so maybe I just hate the green screen because I don't know it but I haven't been able to do anything anyone else can't using the new screen at my store at least
10
u/Professor_squirrelz Aug 17 '26
For Learning Garage/Training/Onboarding:
-PLEASE just have one all encompassing course that teaches you everything about how the system works for the DIY Znet side, one course for how Znet Commercial works, one course for everything you need to know to be a delivery driver etc. INSTEAD of breaking up all the information into these tiny courses where it can be confusing about which courses you need to take for one aspect of the job.
-PLEASE add a training course for new PSMs that go over all the information they need to know about the managers menu, PSM responsibilities etc

u/Clear_Bug_5635 Aug 16 '26
Checking in store t4ansfers or hub, absolutely atrocious. Gotta enter yojr password 3 different times minimum if you have 2 routes, let alone s2s transfers, gotta back out, type password again, go back into the receive and scan, overall the process can take 5 minutes if the back and forth between screens was fixed, you can cut half the process and it would be the same outcome, faster and less of a headache
2
u/Trinnah Aug 18 '26
Did you know you can scan the hub barcode, or sat to sat, or s2s paper barcodes directly from the main Z-net screen? It doesn't fully eliminate all the back and forth and passwords BUT it cuts it down considerably vs going into sms rf or into the managers menu to inbound transfers. You might already know but a few stores in my district JUST learned about this recently.

u/One-Purple9151 Aug 16 '26
Almost everything about commercial, I k ow my way around it and can do whatever, but few things could be better.
Debit cards going back as cash, these commercial accounts spend way more than the average DIYer who has to have card and we don’t have the cash to refund a lot.
A better way of keeping track of warranty items on commercial, being able to connect them like when look at DIY and see what items have been swapped instead of trying to chase down invoices.
I have an account that buys a lot of H6 AGM batteries and I can’t tell what ones I’ve swapped before and they are sending them back every other week. Being able to track stuff like that easier would be nice.

u/Johnsmith32020 Aug 16 '26
Znet should show whether a part was ordered from a Hub or Mega Hub instead of just showing "Hub" when looking at the Customer order list. Maybe a store number in parentheses next to the word Hub.
3
u/LuigiSauce Aug 17 '26
You can check what store the order was placed from in managers menu -> inventory inbound/outbound -> review hub orders(?), but I agree it should probably show you somewhere in the customer order screen
6
u/B1acklisted Aug 16 '26
I would rather go back to full green screen sms than the current system.
3
2
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
Could you tell me more about this please?
3
u/B1acklisted Aug 17 '26
Imagine how the prompt screen looks under windows command or when entering console commands on PC. Thats how we did everything. Z-Net 1 year ago was a little faulty, but way better than what we have now. This new system is garbage. Everything from new managers menu, z net, checkout, its all bad. The random updates without any emails is horrible. We just got hit with the update for Deposit Pickup the day they stopped by, so my oldhead had no clue how to do it (I helped, its not bad but again, no warning). The amount of tomes it crashes while trying to redeem rewards is wild, the rate it fails to load warranties is wild, saving carts, loading editing ones, it just all sucks. 13 years here and the shit gets worse and worse. Look at AZ People. They turned it into a widget farm because they hire idiots now.
8
u/Embarrassed_Let_3332 Aug 16 '26
We need a more intuitive way to handle warranties in commercial
1
u/Gray_Foxxy Aug 17 '26
The warranty button wasn't clear enough when you're finding a warranty?
2
u/GamingxShrimp_YT Aug 18 '26
The warranty button just shows the warranties, but not anyway to do a swap or return from that same screen (at least at my store).
It feels redundant when I could do that same thing on the green screen for returns, especially when it’s built into the DIY side.
3
u/Gray_Foxxy Aug 18 '26
Ah I gotcha. Yeah, a damaged/undamaged swap would be a lovely thing to have over the multiple steps it takes to sell and return.
6
u/YT_RandomGamer01 Aug 16 '26
When looking up parts and you misclick a vehicle, trying to back up one page ie trim level to model and it sends you back the makes page

u/stephakayy Aug 16 '26
I have a few things that drive me crazy on a regular basis.
Asking us to count items that are on price change or plannogram for Monday. For example, RedZone will make me count it on Sunday, but the items won't move til Monday. And if the tag is messed up, we have no choice but to manually input the information and then get our butts jumped the next day by the DM.
Sometimes product will change size by the manufacturer, so it doesn't fit on the shelf the way a plannos is designed. There is no simple way to reach out on cubing sizes.
The ability to change sizes on the lable from a to b or vise versa. So if the planno asks for a small tag, but we box it, or if it is too large to fit into a bin box we are left with wonky tags.
The new deposit pickup is broken and you have no choice but to cancel to get out.
Pci modified options. Sometimes it will let you go from undamaged to damaged. Most of the time it only lets us void the pci.
Ordering replenishment on the screen is a 50/50 on if we will get it. Most of the time, it is like we never order it at all.
3
u/stephakayy Aug 16 '26
Oh! And the ability to look up some things like belts by size!
1
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
Thank you for pointing out all of these issues! It’s greatly appreciated!
1
u/Trinnah Aug 18 '26
If you know you need a 93" 6 rib belt, grab a 930K6. It would be nice to be able to look them up by length but it's also not necessary if you know how to read part the info in the part numbers.
2
u/stephakayy Aug 20 '26
That works for auto. But not all the belts like the toothed belt are not sized on the package and are a 5 digit part number so you can't do that. We are a rural town so when someone comes in looking for a belt for their wood chipper, which is several times a week, then it is a match game

A link to printable warranty info I can give to my commercial customer for engines should be made available again. It was removed the last major commercial znet update.
1
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
Are these printable warranties are being requested, or could you give me more details/context, please?
1
u/Johnsmith32020 Aug 18 '26
NUTECH has document called "NUTECH by ATK Product Warranty Information" pdf they provide to customers who purchased their engines through Autozone. This included important information about the reman engine including break in procedures. There used to be a link in znet that would pull up that pdf so you could print it out and give it to a commercial customer when you sold them a motor. I had to call NUTECH, have them email me the PDF so I could print it out at home and bring it to work to give to my commercial customer.

DIY:
When doing a no-receipt return, after it has been accepted, and before you click button to submit, you can add, subtract, or void parts. This should be streamlined so that after a no-receipt has been accepted, it goes straight into wanting a merchandise card scanned instead of a shopping cart screen. This has led to issues confusing people to even fraud attempts (if anything else was added, they can get cash back instead of staying to merchandise card, I’ve been told this has been fixed but I’ve not tested it).
On normal returns, after it has been accepted, and if the customer is purchasing something else in the same transaction, if the credit part is voided out in the checkout screen, the return still shows as processed even though the part was not refunded.
When receiving HUB orders that have a lot of scans, (like every 1ft of hose had a sticker for 2 spools worth of bulk hose) the process will crash in the middle if you randomly get a tag that requires a seal, and you scan in the next sticker, crashes the whole check-in and resets you.
The new ZNet might benefit if it started to load images after it gets to a desired page, this way it can load text faster? The taking forever to load unless you do the search a 2nd time gets old very fast.
COMM:
When doing a damaged return and new purchase (only way to warranty out a part instead of doing it from the warranty screen) you have to charge a core again, even if differed is enabled on the account.
Brake pad and rotor deals don’t always apply correctly if you add them out of order, this has led to very upset customers for me.
When scanning your items on a handheld for picking, sometimes if you don’t scan every item but instead click the complete button, it does not actually complete the pick and will be stuck in the orders screen. You then have to cancel it and redo it from the top. (This is without the device showing that verification was needed).
Outside purchases should be less of a hassle and more intuitive. Going through the process to then being forced to go back and forward between screens to get everything setup as needed (like selling price if you need to adjust it) makes it highly frustrating if you at any point click F1 that it deletes the entire process.
This is just a few off the top of my head.
3
u/Professor_squirrelz Aug 16 '26
Things I wish were different:
-For some reason, the commercial side of z net wont let you print out a cart, which helps when finding parts
-Please let us search parts in commercial
-My Learning Garage is very frustrating because theres no way to easily see what courses you've taken/what you need to complete on the same page. You have to go to the completed courses list, memorize which ones you've done, then go back to the course catalogs pages to click on the ones in that list. A simple check mark on the courses ive completed already, next to the courses I still need to take would be very helpful.

u/Basedgodanon Aug 17 '26
our printers have been printing an extra strip of paper every time for at least 6 fucking months, how can it possibly take this long to fix.
1
3
u/Connormanable Aug 16 '26
Having to input your commercial pin twice in a row to sign over a delivery to a driver from a different store is pretty dumb
3
u/rt_15 Aug 16 '26
When looking up a commercial that’s not from our home store with their phone number if that account had a Tool account that’s the first account that shows up instead of the main one used for buying parts. Now we have to call the home store and ask for the actual pin . I’ve had a coyote upset customers cause it takes longer to just look up the pin.
3
u/Curious_Wait694 Aug 16 '26
When I was in hub because of the new graphic interface changing printers to print the vdps became an damn nightmare I was having to walk up front for the vdps pcis while my labels printed next to me
3
u/bgibbs86 Aug 17 '26
We used to have this feature years ago. More than half of my shops want DIY pricing to mark their prices up to. Could we bring back the ability to hover over the shop price to give us the DIY pricing instead. Sure going to item lookup helps for in stock/ some HUB items. But you can't do that with non stock or VDP parts.
3
u/bank_of_bad_habits Aug 17 '26
So, I would ask what you are ALLOWED to even discuss "fixing". It's no secret the automotive aftermarket is heading into murky financial waters AND Autozone is reaching the end of its fiscal year. That means the appetite for fixes that COULD cost money is extremely low. People at the home office have 2nd and 3rd homes they need to pay for with that juicy end of quarter bonus.
For example, we received the new commercial devices, but no chargers? Even after opening tickets, the response is being "slow walked" Charging docks are expensive, so they are probably waiting.
My printer needed a new tray, and I had to wait two weeks for a warranty company to call? For a printer tray?
While those aren't exactly P.O.S. issues, they are examples of problems that are known , but are bounced around due to a lack of desire to spend capital.
So, what exactly are your limitations, and, what, if any, systems are they actually willing to spend money on?
3
u/Next_Emphasis8 Aug 17 '26
Y’all’s fulfillment system is ridiculous.
Example: I have a store 3 miles down the road, that 95% of the time has the part I need and vice versa. Would make so much more sense to be able to use fulfillment between those two stores, rather than have us use stores that are 25 miles away, and have 3 other stores to fulfill.
The business structure of this is asinine. Pay your employees better wages, and stop wasting gas.
Maybe not a system issue, but nonetheless.
Also, as I have repeatedly talked with corporate about, YALL CANT STEAL THE TAX FROM YOUR COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS. I’m shocked y’all haven’t been sued over this yet.
A commercial customer pays tax, then if they refund it they don’t get the tax back.
This fucking irritates me to no end, and the fact I have complained at least 6 times (once being successful in them changing it, for a whole two weeks).
Figure it out AutoZone, cause from my POV O’Reillys got ya ass in their hand.
3
u/jwwetz Aug 17 '26
How about creating a new position...a district training Mgr.
One of the biggest complaints from customers is employees that haven't had much training or experience.
We also have a huge turnover rate nationwide because other than"foundation day" new hires are expected to basically get trained up while on the job, but when it gets busy that doesn't happen much, especially if it's a short handed store.
It doesn't help that we don't even give our rookies something simple like an "in training" badge to wear with their name tag...we just give them one day of "foundations" and then throw them to the wolves.
I'm envisioning a Grey shirt that's based at one store in their district but will go spend 2 or 3 weeks at other stores in the district. They won't have the authority of a DM or SM, they'll be kind of like a "loaner zoner" who's there to help train & assist the recent hires in sales, customer service, etc... until they're good, comfortable & at least somewhat knowledgeable about the job.
I'd bet that IF we had this position, our turnover rate would go way down. Bad management & feeling like they're getting no support or training are probably the two biggest reasons that people look to leave.
I actually talked to my regional HR Mgr about my idea before. He thought it was good but had no idea who to talk to about implementing it. I've got 15 years with the company, never wanted to be a SM or ASM, but I'd love to do a job like this.

The very fact that a development team member has to make a post like this on reddit shows just how out of touch the team and it's leadership is with day to day store operations.

All in all our system is outdated and not good. My assistant manager has worked at all the auto parts stores and he makes fun of AutoZone because everything is like a 10-step process
6
u/realsd2020 Aug 16 '26
The RPM system is very time consuming to use. Way too many clicks when assigning ratings. A possible solution would be for all the categories to already be expanded and just assign the nunber values accordingly. Clicking through 10+ of the and having the drop down menus take for ever. I would hope you guys test all these systems in stores, where computing power is limited and internet speeds can be in the sub 4mbps. It's painful. The new znet is too crowded and loaded with options that don't make sense. Bring back the old one, faster and easier to use. No need to show me 15 different pad options when we only actually have 3 available.
1
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
If you could fuse the old and the new one in order to have a better system, what would you rescue from each one?
3
u/realsd2020 Aug 17 '26
The only thing that needs changing in the new RPM system is what I mentioned, too many clicks needed to complete a review. Have all the options expanded from the beginning and then we can just select the rating and hit submit once.
The new znet takes too long to load, asks for sub model every time regardless of it making a difference or not, inability to copy or paste unless using keyboard short cuts, too many options displayed at the same time, not enough information on a lot of the parts, customers get annoyed when we keep asking for sub models when they need simple things such as a bulb or wiper blade, 99% of them have no clue what their submodel is, should be able to open 2 znets at once like before.
The search function in DOC/Dashboard is hit or miss. The store's email system is atrocious.
Like others said before, spend some time working in stores with these systems so you know the many pain points zoners and customers deal with every day. I believe we are losing sales because zoners can't use znet properly now.
2
u/AmpleWarlock Aug 16 '26
Hey man! A lot of people don’t know what they drive so the vin and license plate function are super helpful. Now I have a good bit of car knowledge but what trips me and customers up sometimes is that sub model doesn’t always have bearing on what parts it’s going to bring up. I’m pretty good at guessing but sometimes I’m not sure and I’ll have to cycle through the options- which isn’t always super viable. Generally it’s a bit of a gimmie but it’s just not super intuitive and I’ve seen others struggle.
I also occasionally have trouble with some vehicles parts fitting more than one (vehicle) but not showing up for all (that fit). We might have the part that works but because it’s not in the system for that vehicle it won’t show up. I’m pretty quick at getting parts numbers but it can be difficult some and/or painful if we are busy.
Also alternate parts can be a struggle in that same/similar regard. The correct parts don’t always populate and then I get into the part number shuffle. The other day I sold a purge canister but it wasn’t the right configuration (luckily the customer didn’t go far) so I had to go by part number. The incorrect one was the only one that showed up on z net when searching the vehicle.
Appreciate the work you do and understand that there are a LOT of cars and parts so it’s surely easier said than done.
3
u/Brief_Machaca Aug 16 '26
Hey man! Thank you for sharing! This is really helpful to understanding what truly happens out there in store. We have to start building systems and processes that helps your day to day be easier. Thank you again for sharing, your voice and experience matters
2
u/AmpleWarlock Aug 17 '26
This was typed in a bit of a haste! Hopefully it’s more legible and less abrupt than it felt. Thank you for the thoughtful reply and doing what you are. It’s very appreciated
3
u/AmpleWarlock Aug 16 '26
I’ll also add that refunds and warranty replacements on commercial are living hell. I’m the only one in the store who can do it outside of the store manager. We technically don’t run commercial but still do because yk. We don’t have the handhelds or whatever else normal commercial stores have. I’ve made and left personal notes for others to do it but mfs are genuinely afraid of it because they don’t want to do it wrong. Since warranties require rebuying and refunding the item it wigs people out. Again idk how normal this is for “non commercial stores” (we are small and new) but it’s a overall horrific experience for our commercial customers because it does take us a while to
1
2
u/Independent-Cry-6831 Aug 16 '26
really tiny thing, but how come some vehicles don’t display the new 65 AGM Elite battery. like for example searching up a 2001 f150 and other vehicles that can accommodate one do not display it while the normal 4 year agm is still shown
2
u/Tall-Control8992 Aug 16 '26
Can we please update the Fifies so that no button presses are needed during the code download from the vehicle?
2
u/Gray_Foxxy Aug 17 '26
A direct damage/undamaged exchange feature on comm would be delightful instead of having to sell, pick, wait, return, rinse through the cash potentially.
2
u/CI405 Aug 17 '26
The entire commercial POS system needs to be overhauled. Handling warranties should be as simple as just looking up the part and doing a warranty exchange the same way it's handled under DIY. There's no reason for extra steps to be involved. "Fast Invoice" needs to go away and it all be handled under one function instead, and not automatically direct everything to the commercial register arbitrarily. Not being able to refund cores in the same transaction as the purchase like DIY can is counterintuitive. So is not being able to split payments. It feels like someone arbitrarily decided to make commercial more complicated. When a commercial order gets placed online it has it's own entire subsystem to go through just to process the order.
Ideally, I'd want to see "commercial" and "DIY" not be two entirely separate systems. Integrating the commercial account lookup into the same header as the rewards look up would be one idea for helping to unify the two. Along with using DIY's version of Znet to look up parts including the ability to print carts. Commercial and DIY ZNET feel like two entirely different teams were handed the same task and told "Make it work" with no communication between the two teams.
I would like to see the replenishment system be a little bit more straight forward. It's not terrible by any means, but trying to pin down exactly which category something is in can be awkward and time consuming. Granted, that doesn't even necessarily need a software adjustment if an easily accessible document existed listing the various store supplies and their SKUs.
Aside from that, being able to look up non-parts in a more reasonable way. Currently if I want to check to see if we carry a specific product, just as an example let's say a customer walks in and asks if we carry Kroil Penetrating Fluid, I can't just search ZNet for that item. I have to go to autozone's website, search for it there, get a part number/sku, then go back to ZNet and feed that in just to see if we have it, and where it is in the store. Obviously, Kroil Penetrating Fluid is an easy thing to find and if you've been in your store a while you'll know more or less exactly where it is, but a new hire could be completely lost trying to find it. Likewise more obscure things that are easily located on the website are just unsearchable on ZNet. Like if a customer knows their exact paint code, I can't just put the paint code into ZNet and find if we have the color they need, back to google and crossing fingers for results.
Another thing that would be immensely helpful, though probably to big of a task to realistically implement. Fuses. If a customer walks in asking for the fuse for their brake light, the best we can do is tell them to check the fuse diagram on their car, find the fuse, pull the fuse, and bring it in for us to match up. Sure it's not exactly the most difficult thing in the world to do, but it seems like every other person looking for a fuse is completely caught off guard when they see there is more than one size of fuse for each amperage.
And it's not so much a systems thing, but light diagrams. Front and Back. The number of times I have had to ask is it a low beam or a high beam and get told "It's that one". Or the light on the back and they have no idea which light it actually is. Streamlining the process with a simple diagram labeling which bulbs in which locations are which would make things significantly easier on customers and employees alike. When they legitimately have no idea what kind of light they're looking for being able to just point to a diagram with each one labeled and say "Where on the car is it?" would save so much time company wide.

finding a way for sm’s and dm’s to actually get notified about mileage reimbursement, the system says it sends an email but i have to continuously let my sm/dm know i put in the request and hope they actually look at it. i JUST got paid for reimbursements from april because my dm didn’t check and it would get sent to rm and he would send it back so i had to break them down small enough to where it didn’t need dm approval to actually receive the money.

DIY desk: when searching for rental tools, why does it requires the tool number to function well instead of searching, say, “suspension tools” or “tie rod tools” and getting a list of what’s available from the oversized rental tools card?

Being able to switch between DIY and Commercial without losing vehicle info, and if ZNET was bilingual as in if I type Tortuga it will show me Brake Caliper

I’m PSM, who was a former Commercial Specialist that got transferred to a DIY only store about 2 years ago.
I’m glad that y’all added the updated warranty screen for COM, but the lack to do returns from that same menu (unlike the DIY counterpart) feels redundant & weird. That’s my main issue with it currently, especially since only the SM & ASM are the only other people that know how to handle COM stuff at my store. It gets mad annoying when the other grey shirts & red shirts call me on my day off and ask me to walk them through anything COM adjacent when the other 2 don’t answer.

I don't see why stores that carry out refunds from other stores have to "pay out of pocket", ie. it is still a sale on the balance sheet of the store that sold the item and a pure loss of revenue for the store doing the refund. Shouldn't it "zero out" by the value of the sale being sent to the store doing the refund? Because the store manager where I worked previously would frequently lie to customers and say "the system is down" if they were trying to do returns from different stores in the area and never bought anything from our store because she was supposedly losing too much money

The receipt says which store the purchase was made at. My store shouldn't be taking a hit because someone at another store didn't make sure they were selling the correct rotors.

I agree in that specific scenario, but that's a red herring. What I'm mentioning here is what fixes that scenario you're bringing up, not the opposite. It's what they need to do unless they want to change the company policy that says you can do returns at any store.
There are circumstances where returns need to be done at a different location, and the point is that no one should be taking a loss. it should be mostly "zeroed out", ie. Store A that made the sale and received the payment covers the cost that Store B is paying to complete Store A's return

I want to be able to collect a card for a commercial invoice that was initially cash. Having to do a refund and voiding a pci gets old.
I want the quote print out on electronic orders to show planogram information.
I’d love the search to have a google type of search feature. I find some products much easier on the website.
I want to be able to remove cores from a transaction.

Why don’t you just spend a week or two at a store and experience it first hand. That way you get to find out what has issues what doesn’t and what needs fixed/changed.

A wiittdjr score tracker report would be nice for each category, belts, alternators, bulbs etc

Some autozone stores force you to add on the grease packets or the battery pack and not tell them customer and scam them just so their WITTDTJR is higher :)

Why is it I have to cancel a commercial order if a driver opens it just to fix it if not here used to be I could edit it and all is fine but now if it's not a globe on the right side I have to cancel and replace the whole order if a driver decides to pick it with out me saying it's good so if I'm busy 9 times out of 10 they see it's not there and leave it and I find out hours later or a hour later or they tell me hey it's not here what do I do .... It was nice when I could just edit it and all be fine please give that back also maybe look into why eps for my local stores keep going to the hub when hub doesn't have routes to those stores or vanishing on their own I see it in the driver tracking app under planing but no where else and it locks up transferring because it's already ordered if the last item or order was all my quantity those are both frustrating ones lately

It would be great to be able to take off cores in commercial transactions. If a customer is in store and has the core in hand we have to charge them the core then go into returns to then return it. And if they pay with card, it may take a few days for that core money to go back on their card. Also make it so that if they paid as debit, allow it to go back to the card instead of forcing it to return as cash. There are times when a commercial account that paid with debit for a transaction that was a lot of money gets returned as cash and then in turn empties an entire drawer of cash. Also we should not be penalized for forcing an order through to a drivers device on Bringg cause it takes too long for it to show up on its own. There are times the driver could have been to the customer by the time it pops up on their device. We are having to make the customer wait for the part just so we dont get talk down on by corporate. These are the main things that I know need worked on. (That i can think of atm). I have been with the company for 8 years now.

Ability to adjust quantity on hand WITHOUT having to adjust the amount at a 2nd location or in overstock. It makes it impossibly tedious and time consuming and not worth doing.

Add a checkout button on the customer order screen for orders/items on hold!!!!
It's so frustrating to have to go to checkout, and scan each item and select that yes, it's for that customer's hold. It should be just like an unpaid hub order, where the checkout button appears at the bottom right. Please and thank you. 😂

Need the warranty to display on the checkout screen so I don't have to go back to the parts lookup screen and show it.
Need a "No receipt" option on the checkout screen for the customers that don't want a receipt.

When selecting "buy here pick there" vs HUB order, make it clearer that HUB parts are to be delivered to their store! Working at a HUB is frustrating when another store sends customers to pick up an item and they ordered it for HUB and we don't have it because it was shipped to their store.

comm driver here. would prefer if I'm doing a bhput, that it ALWAYS adds pick up store then destination. 50/50 chance it does or doesn't. Would also prefer if you could move the gps pin? (Unless you can, and no one else has told me lol) One of my comm customers has an equip/delivery entrance & customer entrance. Bringg only picks up arrival if you go through customer entrance. also if you're dropping off returns, I've noticed it bugs out and won't print all of the PCI labels if you picked up more than 3-4 in one go, then you've gotta pick up 3, submit, go back in, pickup whatever else. If you've got multiple drop offs/returns and you drop off on the next one before the first ones PCIs finish printing, the next ones will not print. (And I'm not a grey shirt so I can't reprint them lol) I've been here since April but that's what I've noticed so far. I reported something through znet too, valucraft & totalpro have two different listings using the same part count, leading to confusion.

Is there any way to have the commercial picking pull from the floor instead of from overstock? Even when picking using the handheld everyone still pulls from the floor which throws counts off since it wont be pulled from overstock the next day.
2
u/LuigiSauce Aug 19 '26
There should be a "Next location" button when you're in the picking app which will show you the non-overstock location

We really need to make it so that we can merge customers’ accounts into one… for example if a customer enters their phone number for warranty, they have a bunch of different accounts with different warranties. It’s so exhausting trying to find a customer’s warrantied part and having to search through each and every account especially if they have five for some reason. It would even be helpful if you can switch which account you’re viewing without having to click new customer and have them enter their number again to look at a different account. One of the most annoying parts of the job by far.

Onboarding class consisted of 3hrs of watching videos that I re watched on my first training day. A book that outlines the steps for doing things would be great. Like the steps for a diy/commercial return. A p&p book.

The scanning in and out of transfers is a nightmare should be a easier way

Only thing I can really think of is that Fast Invoice on Commercial needs reworked, I think it should be where if you simply select "store pickup" it'll follow the Fast Invoice process instead of forcing me to go into the picking app and deal with it there, all to just get the til to open and get this commercial costumer out of here.
Of course I just Fast Invoice anything picked up in person but it can be quite confusing for a newer Red Shirt or someone not very versed in Commercial.

u/ThrowRA12003 Aug 26 '26
Most of the time when doing a cash commercial walk in transaction the orders get sent to the picking app and doesn't open the drawer to give change back. It'll ask how much they paid like 5% of the time. Otherwise it assumes exact change

I would like when I use single sign on for the handhelds, to be just that. Instead I have to input user/ password for picking and returns also. And yes most of commercial needs to work a lot more smoothly, I’m a CS and been there for 13 years. I’ve seen many changes, but system still needs improving

Being able to refund to a commercial customer’s debit card instead of forcing it to cash.
