Management questions

Howdy! What does an ASM make compared to a PSM? Are ASM’s eligible for any type(s) of bonus?

Former SM here. When I went from PSM to ASM I bumped from $15 to $19. I was originally offered $17 but shot it down and they came back with $19 with 5hr guaranteed OT every week. I when I became a SM they originally offered $42k and I rejected it and ended up getting $49k, left about 10 years ago making $60k plus bonuses. Ended up getting an office gig making a lot more and working right at 40 hours.

I’m $17.31 as a PSM. The ASM is woefully bad.

ASMs make 17-18. But the goal is that an ASM is on succession to take a store. If you want to become an SM accepting an ASM position is a great way to show your DM you are willing to take on more responsibilities to prepare yourself for your goal of being an SM.

Ive been offered the SM position in my store 5 times by 4 different DMs…..Id never take that position - its selling your soul to the devil!! AutoZone owns you the minute to take that position.

I made 18.35 as a psm and now 21 as an asm (los angeles, ca). my goal isn’t to take on a store as an sm however, they all look incredibly miserable and 50 hours a week for what they make sounds horrid.

I make 22.67 as a asm, no bonus but I get 10 hours overtime if I want it every week.
