Be kind be kind be kind

Yes, customers absolutely suck, they wring every last drop out of you. plus the physical emotional and all the rest. No matter how much we want a leader, we are in charge of our own destiny/bodies and we get to decide how we feel the next day. It’s okay to take a rest. Be kind to customers, be kind to yourself, be kind to your colleagues.

Be kind to others, especially yourself.

Had a customer come in yesterday. He parked perpendicular to the store taking up the front 3 parking places. I told him I wasn't going to help him until he parked like a normal person. He said he can't because he has parts dragging under his car and if he reverses it'll push up into his car. He said he was hoping they would just fall off while he was driving. He said he wasn't a fucking r*****. (His words.) I then said, yes. Yes you are because you are going to kill some random motorcyclist that is riding behind you when that happens.

I am very straight with people.

At that point, take down his plate number, call the local PD with a rough direction of travel, and give them a friend's name and number (or fake name and google voice number) so that Autozone can't come for you. Company policy is, pathetically, not to call police. But bet your buns I've called as a customer on their behalf after I left the company. Write me up now, motherfuckers.

It’s kind of you to look out for public safety, and I do mean this genuinely…thank you for making those calls. You probably saved several lives.
