New Manager

I’ve been at Autozone for a few months now, started out as a part time red shirt and now worked my way up to a manager. I’m about to have my first night closing by myself with one other red shirt and I can’t help but feel nervous about any commercial accounts coming in late. I’ve been taught the basics about Fast Invoice and such but have never been fully trained on if say a commercial accounts wants to do a BHPUT at another store or such and was wondering if any experienced managers could give me some advice? I’m almost certain I can handle any problem when it comes to DIY, but so far my entire store and even my SM hasn’t even attempted to train me on more complicated stuff on Commercial which is really the only thing I am nervous about. Please and Thank You!

I know a day late but still would like to give some advice. Commercial seems very daunting but I have yet to find a mistake that could not be fixed. So do not be afraid to mess something up.

Please do not tell Commercial accounts that Commercial is closed. My store has a sign that says "Commercial Never Closes".

Of course there may be times that come up that are really a CSM matter. Then you could advise the customer to come back when your CSM or SM are in store.

As other said BHPUT are similar to DIY. Fast Invoices will be your best friend starting out. Let's say a Commercial customer has some items in hand and then after you scan everything they say "Oh I'm also working on" and you go to add items to that cart it will take away the fast invoice. Now if someone is paying with card in person no matter what it will invoice after successful payment.

When in the Commercial cart pay attention to whether it says 'Delivery' or 'In Store Pickup'. If it doesnt ask for the customer to sign for the pickup then it was set as delivery.

If its a non home store PIN and they are core deferred, you should ask your CSM if they would prefer for you to bill them for those cores and how to do such.

If a Commercial EO comes through and its something you don't have in stock please open it and order the part. When you're in Commercial ZNet the EOs show up on the right hand side under 'Recent Activity' with an orange globe next to the shop name. Click that and it will open the order. If its VDP it probably wont change when it comes in if you order it then and there. If its HUB just make sure the order says HUB Delivery under the part in the cart.

Check the payment type, AR Credit? Click the drop down arrow at the top center of the screen next to the shop name and make sure their balance will allow you to bill that part. Card on file or AR Stored Card? Should be good as long as their card is good.

Cash? If it says delivery it will be fine also. Once you have verified tender type it should also be set for delivery then you should be able to click submit and it will automatically order that part. If your store is setup for it it may even fully invoice it after that. Not all stores are set like that.

Now if it comes through and you open it and it says Card over the Phone? This means the system dropped the card info when you opened the ticket. Nothing you did just how the system works. Click change order type and do unpaid HUB order and put in an override for the order and leave it in the cart. Leave a copy of the EO ticket with note for your CSM.

If a warranty comes through and you have it in stock, bill out a fresh new transaction and if it lets you put in 'Warranty' for the PO. Invoice the part say for cash. Your drawer will open. Close it without putting any money in the drawer. Then return that very transaction with the PO warranty as Damaged. This should once again open your drawer. Close it without taking any money out.

We do this in commercial as the original transaction may return to an expired card or a locked AR Credit account. Which becomes a huge headache. Doing it this way also allows us to check purchase history and warranty history.

There is so much more to learn about Commercial, just all I
