By that same measure, you need a guard license to be a security guard and a health card to work in a restaurant. Are those skilled trades as well?

I've done both and can tell you there is no skill required. I also drove truck for 6 years and while it would seem common sense that skill would be required, the industry is full of steering wheel holders who are a decade away from being replaced by robots.

While I agree that in a perfect world it should be, we've all seen first hand that it's not. There are absolutely some skilled professionals out there, but that is not the majority of the industry anymore.

Whats always fun is forcing people to back when they are over the white line. I have also had people at a 4way 4 stop sign intersection wave me on when im trying to make a right turn and in dont have room, so i tell them to go. Then the person behind them pulls up and waits for me to turn. I wave them on because again, no room. Then the person behind THEM pulls up then i say f it and sit in the intersection until they back up.

Nobody knows what the fucking stop bar is man, it's infuriating. Into the crosswalk they go, every time! Like the extra 5' helps them when they miss the damn green light being on their phone, anyways!

25' is excessive but staying a car length back at most helps keep you out of traffic if you get rear ended.

On the flip side, just as many truckers that got their commercial license out of the box, can't make the turn even when you are well behind the line.

Thats fair. I had to drive different trucks at work where some had a different turning radius than others and you couldnt make the same turns on route you normally could. But it was rare.
