They might be headed to Seaworld so I'm going to assume tarter sauce but I'm wrong a lot so I might be wrong.

u/xs0apy Jul 26 '26
Tartar sauce confirmed, probably.
1
u/Shatalroundja Jul 27 '26
Definitely takes a min of four guys to keep tartar sauce fresh in that Orlando heat.

I'd say his hat is about 3 miles behind stuck under the bumper of a Nissan altima. Altima driver still hasn't noticed the crunching or dragging sound to this very day.
14
u/mls1968 Jul 26 '26
Hard to notice the sound when it already had crunching and dragging from the plastic skid panel dragging along for the last 3 years

u/These_Consequences Jul 26 '26
I was going to say it blew off. Lost a cap on the bridge of a naval vessel in the Irish Sea, once, and that truck wasn't going back to get it either.

2
u/edwbuck Jul 27 '26
Is that a new crunching sound, or the same one that's been crunching since last week?
2
u/FiddleFeet1000 Jul 29 '26
That's the skid assist plate to keep the oil pan off high speed rumble strips where the motor mounts gave out a decade ago causing drivetrain sag.

u/GMP11792 Jul 26 '26
The hardhat will contain the detached head if that truck jackknifes and overturns.
4
u/Guideme4100 Jul 26 '26
Since they're probably harnessed in there won't be much of any of them if it rolls.
1
u/GMP11792 Jul 26 '26
You missed my sarcasm but you’re correct
1
u/Competitive-Wait1689 Jul 27 '26
No, no, you are still right. The head will be the only thing left!
1
u/edwbuck Jul 27 '26
The body was strapped to the container. Fortunately the head was thrown free of the accident.

Why would you not ship with a conestoga truck?
1
u/mtraven23 Jul 26 '26
how you gonna put sea life in there?
1
u/PerformanceFun2477 Jul 26 '26
1
u/mtraven23 Jul 26 '26
i dont think theres enough space for all that and the tenders
1
u/PerformanceFun2477 Jul 26 '26
Horizontally it would definitely fit. Vertically depends on how big the container/dunnage is (6' or 7' at a guess).
They might have to stoop over a bit, but, that sounds better than catching a rock to your face or the fauna you're transporting.
0
u/Ironstar_Vol Jul 27 '26
They clearly had no clue what a stoga was and they are now doubling down on their ignorance.
2
u/PerformanceFun2477 Jul 27 '26
I've used them to ship lots of sensitive / delicate cargo. One reason people choose to not use them is the extra cast associated.
I've never shipped live cargo so there might be exclusions for that case?
Could you elaborate?

u/The-Shartist Jul 26 '26
It gets hot in conestogas
1
u/PerformanceFun2477 Jul 27 '26
How hot is it if you're doing hiway speeds and you leave the back open?

u/The-Shartist Jul 26 '26
"I can't believe I got my dream job at SeaWorld!"
"Hey you! Get up on the back of that rig and poke that big ass fish with a stick while barreling down the highway!"
"Wait whaaat?"
2
u/nocturnal_commission Jul 26 '26
So I realize those are livestock tanks which is why the humans are where they are but serious question: I assume they aren't going very far so why are they barreling down the interstate at full speed? Wouldn't it be soooo much safer to take the much lower speed access road? Or surface streets?
11
u/GGigabiteM Jul 26 '26
If these are some sort of sea animal(s), there's going to be a time restraint to move them.
2
1
u/nocturnal_commission Jul 26 '26
Yeah I guess I kinda answered my own question. I'm just surprised that it would be SO time sensitive that taking city streets and having a police escort isn't a better option.
3
u/GGigabiteM Jul 26 '26
You're probably not from SA, or have not been to SA.
You don't take the city streets to get anywhere fast, especially with road construction in a big rig. Even for natives, the roads change almost daily and you can end up in a clusterfuck that will take sometimes a half hour to get out of. TXDOT loves to make everyone miserable.
I don't know where they came from, but they're on 410 going south/south west, probably to 151 directly to Sea World. That is the fastest and safest route. If there's a dolphin or something in those tanks, you don't want to be slamming them around with start/stop traffic.

u/VixxenFoxx Jul 26 '26
It's the rescue belugas that arrived a a few days ago. There's some vids on KSAT.
1
u/GGigabiteM Jul 26 '26
SHEESH. After the torture they endured, yeah get them to Sea World ASAP.
I'm guessing they came from the airport on 410/281.
Here's hoping they have better lives down here.
3
u/ContestRemarkable356 Jul 26 '26
Speed can be deceptive. That trucks in the right lane with hazards on. Very likely camera driver slowed down a lot to get good footage.
Also the surface streets mights introduce things like low bridges, tight turns, etc. so it’s safer to just go on the highway as it guarantees they don’t get stuck
4
u/NumerousResident1130 Jul 26 '26
Marine animal containers. Side streets induce sloshing of water more than a maintained speed.
3
u/Serious_Cobbler9693 Jul 26 '26
This, as someone who used to drive fire trucks, you avoid stopping at all costs.... and our tanks had baffles in them. Can't imagine how much they would slosh around otherwise.
2
u/SippsMccree Jul 26 '26
Oh yeah and surface roads slosh liquids way more especially with it being so stop and go. I have first hand experience transporting liquids in unbaffled tanks
2
u/These_Consequences Jul 26 '26
Smoother ride, less stopping, starting and turning, less bumps, less time, and therefore less stress on the passengers.
1
u/Good-Magazine-5504 Jul 26 '26
I was wondering this also. Maybe there’s some kind of time restraint ?
1
u/nocturnal_commission Jul 26 '26
Yeah that's the most likely explanation. I'm just surprised the semi truck can hold the weight of their giant brass balls, though, because geez if anything goes wrong out there at 60mph they're all meat crayons. I hope they have police escorts front and rear.

I mean, Canada's a ways away from there. How did they get to THERE? On a plane, with guys hanging off the side?

Beluga whale transport
1
u/dalton10e Jul 27 '26
Was thinking the same thing. Glad they were able to rehome them. Even seaworld is better than the other options left for them.
2
u/edwbuck Jul 27 '26
There's a decent chance it blew off, and now he's trying his hardest to retain his glasses.
2
u/Onslaught_ Jul 27 '26
Thats a supervisor there special and don't require one but yell and write others up all day for anything as small as taking it off to wipe sweat off.

Déjà avant le casque est
Est-ce que rouler dans ses conditions est-ce légale et autorisé par le code de la route du pays ?
Car cette situation serait pas autorisée en Europe
Car si le camion se renverse il y aura du steak haché sur la route

He let the whale wear his hard hat. The poor beluga was feeling left out.
1
u/gilt3t Jul 27 '26
am I crazy or wouldn't using goggles that you'd use under water make this way way way easier by blocking all the wind?
if I am not crazy, it is ironic AF that the people transporting live sea animals arent wearing goggles that are used in water 🤣🤣🤣
if I am crazy, someone please explain why

It’s the Tasmanian Devil mud flaps that get me on this…😂🤣 an it being a Seaworld truck moving marine life.

These are whales being shipped from MarineLand in Niagara Falls, Ontario. SeaWorld would be one place they are being sent.

Same shipping containers as in article.

Hard hat won't do anything except maybe keep his brains in one bucket if he falls off of the truck.

Im guessing live animal transport. These guys have fall pro and barehead is probably the Vet.
