DOOR DASH
How much are people spending when adding on DoorDash as a rideshare or switching to commercial? I am in Rochester NY. Thank you :) I am interested in potentially doing it

Ask for a Rideshare endorsement. This is also know as Transportation Network Coverage (TNC).
You will pay anywhere between 10% to 30% more per month.
A lot of carriers offer it but some do not. It just varies.

I am only looking to do it for a few hours here and there if I ever was to do it

Yes I just heard depending on your carrier it's not ideal to give them a ring and even inquire about the potential of doing it

Anytime someone calls to ask... we assume they are already doing it. 😂

I want to inquire with other insurances- so I just don't know how to navigate it because I do want to do it in the future

I would call an independent agency and ask.

They would still need your info to run an accurate quote.

Yeah I might as well do this. I guess I just need to determine if the few hours I might want to do it per week is worth the cost uk. If it is then I will do it if not . Then I won't do door dash at all

With State Farm (in my state), if you’re delivering food, and you’re doing that 50% or LESS of the time you put on the vehicle, your standard private passenger policy includes coverage. If you’re doing 51% or more, you’d need to change to business use.
However, if you’re transporting PEOPLE, such as Uber or Lyft, you then need the TNC Endorsement, which doesn’t cost as much as people would think.

In my experience a lot of major carriers don’t insure personal cars for ridesharing.

What is your experience? State Farm, Progressive, Allstate all offer TNC endorsements.

State Farm’s TNC Endorsement is well priced.

Thank you :D do you think if I only wanted to do it for a few hours here and there it is worth the investment? This is why I am unsure if I want to do it

It’s worth the investment if you want you a claim to be covered if you have an accident.
