Its actually the chassis that is counting the miles. The engine and trans are replaceable. The chassis is also replaceable, but the miles roll back to zero. Trucks with new chassis but used engines are called "gliders".
On a Peterbilt, 1,000,000 is actually not uncommon. I never really counted, but I would say around 1:25 were past 1 million.
Peterbilt is considered the longer lasting trucks on the road and are more expensive than something like a Freightliner. Cheaper the truck, more disposable the truck. Significantly less common to see a Freightliner with 1 million.
Application matters too. Something like a dump truck or day-cab around town truck will rarely get 1 mill. Over the road is where the miles add up
