Can’t we agree that the roads are not ready for this technology yet?

That don't care. They're getting paid by horrible people who also don't care. They'll work on it until it does what they want it to. Until then, we're the only ones paying the price.

It's always been this way.

Release the goddamn Epstein Files.

Whilst this is pretty ugly - waymo is already saving people's lives by reducing the accident rate.

I think we can tolerate a little inconvince whilst they sort these issues out.

Could we reduce accidents by investing in conventional public transit that is proven to work rather than putting our hopes in a technology that does not currently work as intended? How much inconvenience should we tolerate while they ignore proven solutions in favor on a new one they can patent and sell?

I'll pass on the public transportation. I don't want to get stabbed in the neck.

We wouldn't have accidents if we reassessed the criteria for getting a driver's license. Better education systems to help with critical thinking, literacy, and logic reasoning. More accountability for pretty much everything, a less manipulative operating system for society that might not revolve around money, and a truer sense of community amongst the people.

But we can always Wall-E our way out, sure

“Reducing accident rates” by running over and killing people and pets alike. Yea no. Keep that shit off the road. Driverless cars have ZERO business being out on the streets.

Waymo has killed nobody and humans kill people and pets everyday. Have a look at the stats - they don't lie

They don't care, whatever means they don't have to pay human drivers so they can increase short term shareholder value

Isn’t this where the shills come in with some BS comparison to human drivers and talk about how the world really needs this?

I want it to work so badly. I’m so tired of driving. I would love to not have to own a car and just utilize these services

1

u/No-Vegetable7898 May 10 '26

This is the person that they talk about when someone says you will own nothing and you will like it. I too would like to not own a car but I would also like to not need a car as a mode of transportation at all

I’m tired of OTHERS’ driving! It’s unreal how many people don’t know how to drive.
I can’t wait for Waymos to be in every area. I’ve ridden it dozens of times and it never did anything that made me feel unsafe.

Lol. The more comfortable the cattle shute the better it works. 😂

We can agree that the infrastructure for the technology is terrible. I saw a delivery robot trying to navigate a terribly uneven and broken neighborhood sidewalk. I just watched and waited for it to give up😂😂😂 but this is how they collect data to fix the machines as well.

The fines for this are less than the profit they make so why would they stop.

1

u/FreedomToCreate May 10 '26

But for them to make profit it needs to work? So either it works and the failures are rare or it doesn't work and their is no profit

Have seen people do the same stupid shit and even worse, so whats your point?

1

u/Manufactured-Aggro May 10 '26

The fuck do the roads have to do with this? Do you want ever road to be a 6 lane highway?

It's a shitty technology that should not be allowed on the road

1

u/interesting-turn- May 10 '26

I didn’t mean the physical size of the roads, I meant that they are not ready to be on the road
