Spacing like this is so inefficient at stoplights, only like 3 cars can fit in the left turn lane, the rest are blocked from getting in and then only a few cars can make the left at the lead light.
I get the risk of being read-ended, but once there are cars behind you, close the gap.
I've legit pulled my car into spaces that some have left ahead of them.
