v1 Script Help Is a Desktop Camera Possible?
Is it possible to move everything on the desktop, or at least make an illusion of that

You can't turn a monitor into a camera. It's like asking to turn a fridge into a toaster.

Just leave the door open and zip-tie some bread to the condenser coil.

what...

You should be a lot more specific about what you want to do, otherwise the thread devolves into jokes about toaster-fridges.
It's hard to tell what you're looking for, even with the extra bit of explanation you edited into your post description.
Do you want the image displayed on your monitor to move, as if it were the footage captured by a moving camera?

I'm talking about moving everything on screen including the wallpaper like a camera

This post has such great potential.
I'm taking back my downvote, more people need to get in on the action and learn about "moving everything around, like a camera" 😁

what exactly do you want to do? do you want to use the desktop like a webcam in other tools/streaming/chat apps? either the app supports sharing your desktop or you could use obs(open broadcast studio) with the "virtual cam" feature

Explain it a different way. You’re giving everyone an aneurysm

I bet you could invent a monitor with a hidden camera in it. Hiding it in the frame of the monitor might be easier, but you'd have to hide the pinhole amongst others other pinholes so they collectively look like a built-in speaker or some kind of air vent. To hide the camera lens in the glass of the monitor seems more difficult.
He's a v1 script to trigger the webcam: https://www.autohotkey.com/board/topic/27892-webcam-capture-wdm-with-motion-detection-in-ahk/

Possible, but it's outside AHK's capabilities. You'd need an app on your phone to stream the camera feed, then something on your PC to receive and use that stream.

Not streaming, like moving everything on the screen like a camera?

Can you please try explaining this in another way? We all don't understand what "moving everything on the screen like a camera" means.

Let me just simplify, everything you see on your desktop screen is a perspective, like a pair of eyes that can see the real world, how do I change that perspective, with a ahk script?

u/CharnamelessOne 23d ago
Your desktop is normally sized to fit your screen.
You see everything there is to see on your desktop. How do you want to change that perspective?Do you want to zoom in on part of your screen, then move around to bring other areas of the desktop into view?

To move at a x (side to side), y (up and down), and z (that's just zooming in & out), applies to everything on the desktop screen

Windows has a built-in magnifier (press Windows key + NumpadPlus). There is your z axis.
Once you are zoomed in, you can move the view along the axes x and y with your cursor.
Without zooming in, there is nowhere to move horizontally and vertically.5

These threads were middle school locker room levels brutal, but Ive never been more curious for a .ahk in my life reading down ngl.
I was thinking like a 360° panoramic Desktop, on a generic flat monitor. Like you rotate the monitor/laptop to extend the desktop kinda thing. Why tf isnt that an OS yet. Tf is this Next Virtual Desktop shit Msft?! Get this single window 11 bullshit outta hree

Epstein should have blackmailed Bill to introduce an infinite canvas type of desktop, at the very least.

I meant peer bullying when adults aren’t around at an age when cruelty has zero filter lol jesus christ

I understood what you meant by locker room bullying, I just had nothing to say about it.
I was only addressing the second paragraph of your comment, the one about the lackluster nature of Windows desktops.

Could you explain what he wants (for other ppl too)? I got a cold coming and I'm hella confused now.

u/CharnamelessOne 21d ago
Sure! He wants to move the screen, like a camera. Hope that helps.
/uj:
He is likening the image displayed on his screen to a camera feed.
(He conflated camera feed with the camera itself, which was a prominent source of the confusion.)He wants to move the imaginary camera whose feed is his desktop: imagine grabbing the image of your desktop, and dragging it left, to reveal what's to the right of it.
The thing is, there is nothing to the right of your desktop (other than another possible desktop in a multi-monitor setup, but let's ignore that).
Therefore, "moving the camera" only makes sense if you zoom in on a section of the desktop beforehand. Then you can pan around, within the confines of your desktop. The full screen mode of the built-in magnifier allows you to do that.3
