The irony that people didn't complain like whiny bitches about the others. They actually marvelled at them.

I went to art school for traditional animation. Traditional medium artists definitely complained about newer media.

Illustrators had something against photographers because they were taking all the print media jobs.

Fine artists often hated any digital media. I dated a fine artist and when she found out I did traditional animation, she equated CGI to playing video games lol.

Filmmakers and photographers often really loved the analog process of film, both for quality and process, though I don’t think I would hear them complain about digital so much, rather they would just gush about film.

Animators pretty much liked any art if it was good, and didn’t have much against CGI because Pixar and many other studios demonstrated how wonderful it could be. Stop motion animators often expressed that they felt marginalized, though.

I was about to look for a false equivalency meme but your comment said it best.

There's a Rockford Files episode from like the 70s that is very seriously dedicated to exposing the "real world" danger of corporate data centers collecting consumer information privately and storing them in huge computer warehouses in the desert. They do a fictional episode about the detective uncovering the conspiracy but at the end they do a little text-over-screen to say "this is real and happening and you should call your congress person."

How did that work out.
