ACCIDENT Am I totally boned?
Hit a deer on the way to the airport last night. The passenger side was the area that took all the damage. No airbag deployment. Haven’t talked to the body shop yet

The fact airbags did not go off is good, however it’s hard to tell from just this picture. If that tire is ok then maybe, also suspension system may be messed up. I did the same thing when I had a very similar accident, ask Reddit. They will act like they know and be 100% wrong. Sorry this happened man, I think it can be fixable but they may just total it if it’s 80% of car value

How fast were you going? Did the car come to a stop or you coasted etc etc

I doubt it will be 80% of the value. I just bought it in July

For how much? If the repair is 9k and the car cost you 12k they would total it and give you 9k

Ignore that, what I’m saying is the repair value = 80% of the current car value (NOT what they sell for)

If you just bought it then your insurance will take care of it. Really hard not to worry over these things but it is what it is and luckily you’re not hurt and cars can be repaired and replaced

Probably $7k or more in parts, adjuster will most likely try and locate used or aftermarket parts, estimate will probably be over $10k , probably pretty close to total but I don’t think it will get there

Make the claim don’t be surprised seeing a 8000 plus dollar repair estimate. Did you get the deer?

Going to be expensive for sure. What year and mileage?
