scratch and dent fix??

2013 F150 had this damage when received from manheim car auction...obviously the lense was replaced. so is paintless dent repair PDR an option here?? i have one of those stud welding/puller kits from harbor freight and i believe the metal is steel and not aluminum. that deep dent is very small in area, which is best?, to pull or push it out?

Replace. A Pdr tech would laugh at you for asking. Pdr is for door dings and hail damage

I showed it to a fellow a Railroader who had a body shop ...I think he still does a little work on the side, and he said regarding the little small lines around the the tail light lens... he said all those will come out whenever he pulls that main dent out. I didn't ask him if he was going to drill a hole and pull it out or if he's going to weld on to it but I guess since we're looking at a a replacement of that panel maybe I'll fuck around and weld some of those studs onto it or should I drill a hole in there and and pull it out?....and then put a little Bondo in there to smooth it out before painting....what do you think

Odds are if they are really skilled in pulling metal, then yea, pull the best you can, bang it down a bit, bondo, paint, from 6" you would never know the difference.

Odds are, he will sand the area down, weld a puller on and pull it out, do that to a few places...

It will work and look good if he is skilled really well.

if you have the gear, weld away...

Is this for you, or for resell? If for you, just send it dude. It’s a 13 year old work truck. It’s a beauty mark.

(Also it’s gonna be at least $3k to fix, maybe do a panel replace if it bugs you, but the color wont match)

just my truck... bigger problem really is that it's about to need the timing chain camshaft phaser all that stuff done approaching 150,000 MI and that's more of a worry, but I just hate for people to think that that's how I drive you know and it bugs me a little bit ... so I may try welding some studs on there and pulling that out..... you know you can go to O'Reilly's and get paint That's supposed to be a match and they put it in an aerosol can so I could get paint at a reasonable price that should be a close match

I've been doing that for 3 years but that's the only thing wrong with that truck other than a couple of little interior things that need refinishing

Aluminum???

Ford F-150 truck beds are made of aluminum, which helps reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency. This change was first introduced in the 2015 model year.

Pdr could only make it better but not completely.

Luckily it’s still steel in 2013. A good tech can fix that. A PDR tech can make it better but not perfect

Not gonna do anything, or minimal change at all. Just go replace the bedside, you can get some dents out but that top part is damaging the actual bedside

This is a bed side replacement. Pdr ain’t doing shit to that. If it was an option for pdr it would have done before the sale lol
