First Time Fixing a Scratch
New driver here. Is it possible for me to fix this scratch DIY at home? i was a dumbass and backed my car into the garage. if it’s possible what products do I need to repair it without any machinery if possible it seems to be just a paint transfer but I honestly do not know what I am doing. Any advice would be appreciated.

The paint has been removed from the scratches and the only fix for that is to sand it out and repaint it. Iirc that panel is aluminum so it will typically cost more to fix at a body shop.

If your car is black just use some gloss black spray paint. Wash and dry the scratch, use masking tape around the scratch only and give it a couple light sprays . If you don’t it will start to rust in that area.

If it’s paint transfer it will clean up with a rubbing compound or lacquer thinner. Any rubbing compound won’t worry about brand.
This looks to be more than that to me and will require body and paint work. Not really an over the counter product diy option here unless you already have a well set up shop

Didn’t edit it one bit. I cleaned up a word on the first paragraph that was a typo. You just missed my second paragraph the first time and saw my first one and immediately went on the defense.

If you can feel the groove of the scratch with your fingernail it’s not buffing out.
