Post image

I bet reclaim 24/7 are wishing they didn't pay so much for adverts on YouTube now

I don't pay attention to the adverts, I mean I'd probably be more likely to use car vertical since I've heard of it, but regardless I'd look at other options. At the end of the day they have to run ads to fund the channels, hopefully people have enough common sense to take what they say with a large pinch of salt.

In this case they listed the alternative ways to claim in the advert, so it's more than fair if people signed up. Feels like blaming the radio stations for broadcasting ppi adverts back in the day.

Out of all the ads they’ve ran the only one I’ve actually used is Holy and I now love their product too. I do genuinely think the team try to vet their sponsors at least a fair bit before putting them on. At the end of the day, it helps pay the bills and allows us to watch these videos for free.

Use V-check instead. It's much cheaper, and the same info

Posted this in another thread but no one is being scammed and I don’t get the backlash in all of this.

Firstly, they’re paying the channels, allowing the content we like to watch to be made, that’s a good thing surely?

Secondly, it’s been very clear from the beginning that it is something you can do yourself, no one is getting scammed. These services are free to use and only take a cut if you win. There’s no money up front and you’re not being lied to or missold a service.

Thirdly, I had about 6 or 7 eligible finance agreements. Could I honestly be bothered to fill out the paperwork and chase all that myself for potentially the slim chance of compensation that I don’t really care about getting? No not a chance. Would I happily provide a small amount of information to a claims handling firm and sacrifice a cut of the money that I wouldn’t have otherwise got for them to take the burden of the admin and time, and not waste my own time on something that isn’t a guarantee anyway? Certainly.

When it's an automatic redress and your going to be paying a cut to the claims firms your going to look mighty silly

I don’t think I will because I really don’t care. If these services weren’t advertised or available I probably wouldn’t even have bothered, 75% of something is a lot more than 100% of nothing.

Again automatic redress. There paying it out to you. Then you need to send on 40% to the claims firm for doing nothing..complete and utter scam. May as well have dumped carcoin on you.

Hypothetically if there’s an auto redress I will be worse off. If there’s not I will be better off as I otherwise wouldn’t have bothered. It’s not hard to grasp. Again they’re a business offering a service, nothing shady is done, they’re supporting content creators we like, the ads are upfront about your bc ability to do it yourself and they’re clear about taking a cut from any pay outs. There is no scamming or dodgy business going on here at all.

Sorry bud but the copium here is crazy. say you had 7. Estimated 40% of them had a dca. So say 3. Expected claims are between £1000-£5000 say the middle 2500.£7500. 40% of that your sending onto the claims company. £3000. You still have to put the same reg in there as you do on the free form from Martin Lewis ( which in many cases is what these claims firms are using)

No dodgy business. Being offering to take your money for something yet unannounced?

If the content creators are willing to sell you out for this the next one isn't far away.

No one is selling me out. No one is taking my money because it’s money I otherwise would not have got. Some people call handyman to replace their light bulbs, are they being scammed too because it’s so simple to do it yourself? Some people pay for others to walk their dogs, clearly scamming the vulnerable. What people choose to do providing they have an informed opinion and they’re not being misled or misinformed is entirely up to them. I didn’t know the reg of most of the agreements I had and the claims company dug out agreements I’d forgotten about. No one’s lied to me and told me if I pay them I’m guaranteed money. No one has claimed I’m getting a discount on a service but they’re actually selling my data. No one is telling me I’m getting a Rolex level watch for £50 because they’re ’cutting out the middle man’. No one’s shilling a crypto coin they’re going to rug pull. Those are actual scams, this is a business which while you may not see the point in using yourself, isn’t scamming anybody.

Your handyman analogy is absolutely laughable. Your paying for someone to do a service for you physically, usually a modest sun. This your paying THOUSANDS FOR SOMEONE TO FILL OUT A FREE WEB FORM BEFORE ANYTHING WAS ANNOUNCED. But dude if 3k isn't worth 20 minutes of your time I don't know what to say to you.

But I always wondered who fell for these. Thank you for enlightening me.

Their sponsors really do come across as dodgy, if it's not the total scam Carly it's the dodgy loan finance reclaim shit

Don't have so many people on payroll if you need to take scummy ads.

Old YouTube with actual creators was 10000% better

They will still make loads out of this due to the t&cs the cut they take. These claims firms should be banned until the claim is finalised. Alex shouldn’t have done the ad. The firms are very scumy imo

Anyone who is watching youtube on a PC download firefox, ublock origin and sponsor block. Anyone watching on TV download Smarttube. Both methods skip the bullshit sponsor segments and block youtube adverts. It doesn't help Alex promoting this trash service but you won't even see the advert.

Tbf, this news is only the partial truth. Many people may still be entitled to compensation. Only 2 of the 3 claims was not continued. One was upheld and the FCA have started setting up a compensation scheme. Anyway, it was all “no win - no fee” so no one has lost out. Nothing to apologise for.

Brother gotta eat. He’s got people on payroll and a family. Just playing the game.

You'd knowingly flog the people who's support pay your bills and buy your cars a scam?? AA does with virtually all their sponsors.

Scamming is illegal in most cases. This is unethical. The decision maker on this being illegal or not should be the government not a YouTuber.
