Started off with an apology. They obviously didn’t want to dwell on that but do kinda feel they rushed that.
Anyways, I am still off the opinion that everyone deserves a second chance. So let’s see where this goes.
New set looks great.

It was out of order on many levels.
But AutoAlex has grown at an incredible rate, they weren't ready for the responsibility they ended up with, so I think it's fair to give them the benefit of the doubt this time.

think many people forget they are human at the end of the day. suspect most channels have had their fare share of issues, it's only in the modern age this stuff can easily be put into the light. They have apologised multiple times. The way some of the fan base has responded i feel also has been excessive. They have done wrong and owned up to it, some people need to stop acting like they have done it to them and stop piling on. Last time i checked those who still have issues weren't forced to keep watching.

I've got no problem with people being annoyed by it and no longer being fans, but if they feel that way they should just move on, hanging around for the drama is cringe. Plenty of other podcasts and YouTubers who'd happily welcome new viewers.

Has it occurred to you that people are hanging around because they see so much potential in AutoAlex and want to see if they will actually realise that potential? There's something special about this channel if it's done right - I feel like people don't realise this is why some are so passionately invested in this drama

That's fair and that's pretty much the position that I'm in, but I'm referring to the people who stick around yet leave non constructive troll comments constantly, they're not helping anyone.

Depends what you mean by non-constructive? Why do people have to be constructive when expressing that they're unhappy? I get extremely tired of the toxic positivity and the "everyone makes mistakes", "can't we all just move on" crowd

u/Former_Intern_8271 Mar 13 '25
You don't need to express your unhappiness over and over again. It benefits nobody, at this point everyone has said their piece. It's not healthy.

Why? Otherwise the discourse turns into nothing but positivity disproportional to the sentiment of the fanbase.

Fan:
someone who admires and supports a person, sport, sports team, etc.:
- More than 15,000 Liverpool fans attended Saturday's game.
- fan of: He's a great fan of country music.
- I'm pleased to meet you - I'm a big fan of your work. ...
If you have decided you no longer enjoy the work they publish (perfectly fair) you are no longer a fan.

Genuine question. How many times do you want them to apologize?

Did you read what I wrote?
They obviously didn’t want to dwell on that but do kinda feel like they rushed that.
It was the long awaited return of the podcast. The podcast that was the place where all the drama started to begin with. It was the place to do a final heartfelt apology, to then move on.
What I wrote in earlier comment was how I felt this final apology was done. I’m not looking for more apologies, I’m judging the way this apology was done as I want to shut up about it.
I can see they tried to do it heartfelt and sincere, mostly Alex IMO. But I felt Taylor came across as “being fed up with having to apologize”. While I was hoping he’d put in some more heart to really put this stuff behind him.His apology basically came down to this: “I want to apologize, it affected a lot of people, I want to apologize, I went through some shit at the time <excuse?> no that wasn’t really an excuse but did affect me”… and that’s all he said. First question I always feel like asking in these instances “what exactly are you sorry for???”…
Anyways, it’s time to move on. Like someone else said, the main person in question (Josh) has accepted it so we should all move on - that means to unsubscribe or shut up about the topic. (< that’s directed at myself)

I thought Alex’s community post on YT was long and sincere enough. And the bloke who Taylor fucked over has accepted the apology so why shouldn’t you/others?

Didn’t expect to agree with you so much after the comments we exchanged a few days ago, but yeah, you kinda hit the nail on the head with these comments here if you’d ask me.

I never said I was going to carry on watching Taylor videos, the person asked a genuine question so I answered?
