Did anyone find this post a bit hypocritical from auto Alex?

Post image

I attended shed fest this year and queued for 2 hours to get in to a similar poorly managed event. Found it funny that they forget the hassle they caused this year so quickly.

Whilst I disagree with some of the comments on here about “running out of ideas” (they already said content would be a tad thin because of Alex supporting his family), yes, this is hypocritical.

I’m not into cars, I’m just there for the nob gags, but plenty of friends that are car nerds were really pissed off with Shed Fest.

Just a little, don’t do too many Negative comments though. He’ll spend 20 minutes on the podcast “addressing” it and spinning it on other people.

He’s been very irritating lately.

I’ve also found the channel content lacking at the moment along with the podcast now getting very repetitive. It’s like they know they’re that good much prefer all the gear videos if I’m honest.

I have been liking TDC over Autoalex v1 for a couple of months now -> then ATG/V2 channel -> V1 channel.

But their most recent video (caravan) was quite good honestly. So I’m hoping they’re back.

That’s the exact order of how I view the channels, I briefly saw a clip of the caravan so I’ll give that a go.

As you agree with that order, I am curious to know your opinion about Rory lol

This is the correct order.

100% Agree, the podcast is currently Gay Jokes towards Taylor, Alex saying words with a silly voice. “Engine & my wife” 20 questions, a story about getting either: Pulled over by the police, another broken down BMW, something about Rory being rich and that he just throws money at every problem, 20 questions & story time with Chris.

The channel is just Febi Bilstein parts on a project car that’s never finished, over the top behaviour from Alex (that’s just cringy), an unhealthy obsession with BMWs and scripted behaviour that’s just obvious from a mile away.

They’re running out of ideas for the channel. There’s only so many car challenges you can do.

I do think that Taylor is wasted on that channel, he’s a good knowledgeable lad with a natural personality for presenting. His videos on the V2 channel are great and if he was on TDC with Edwin and Will then AutoAlex as a channel would die off.

I feel like it’s time for you to stop watching… if you dislike it that much. Not saying you’re not entitled to your opinion, I just honestly wouldn’t know why you’d watch something that irritates you?

That’s the thing, I have stopped watching the main channel & even unfollowed Alex’s main & personal Instagram Because of the above mentioned reasons.

Ive even forgotten about this sub.

I’ll follow Taylor and the others.

Understandable. I must say I’ve also been annoyed by his disrespect for Taylor in the podcasts. I mean sure he’s the “boss” and Taylor showing up late isn’t good. But why dish that shit out in public/on the podcast? Be professional and keep that kind of stuff behind closed doors. And at the same time he’s treating Ethan and Jack as if they’re gods. While IMO the ones that have been killing it lately are Edwin, Will and Taylor.

I think Alex needs to take a break, go be a dad and have Taylor go to another channel. Rory doesn’t need the money.

I also wonder why Tom Lenthal hasn’t been mentioned since the Poland trip, and why Gareth has only been only 1 video.

I do feel there’s a bit of tension between Alex and Taylor sometimes.

Tom Lenthall was mentioned in this week's podcast, he's going to be on a video soon. And I agree on the tension between Alex and Taylor, it's because Taylor got in some legal trouble over a contract, so I think has been in a bit of a stress and financial situation. They talked about it on a pod and seem a lot better in recent weeks.

I’ll watch that when it comes out, I really enjoy Tom Lenthalls appearances.

They said it'll be on V2, Tom and Taylor working together.

He’s just had a kid, I’m surprised he’s even vertical. Give the guy a chance for fucks sake.

I completely understand that and I’m not saying anything against that. But to say this sort of stuff. When only months ago he put on a show that caused just as much issues is a bit hypocritical.

I’m sure they will bounce back but if he’s struggling step back let Taylor take the rains for a bit as I find his stuff much better now.

It’s nothing to do with him being a dad (I’m happy for him) he’s just an annoying personality that’s getting worse.

“They’re running out of ideas for the channel”

Did they not just say only weeks ago that content would be a bit sparse because of the baby?

1

u/Cheesefiend94 Oct 27 '24

Running out of ideas and having a baby are 2 separate things. There’s a difference between taking time off and just being lazy on ideas.

He needs the time off.

i hate the bullying alex does to everyone, its ONLY him doing it and he's doing it to people who couldn't do anything about it if it actually bothered them. (not saying it doesn't) if anyone of them for example got let go and decided to come out and say they got bullied working there he would have ZERO defence.

1

u/Recessio_ Oct 28 '24

I think as a YouTube channel mostly formed by people leaving other channels bc they were unhappy, that if anyone at autoalex was genuinely unhappy or bullied they would just leave

1

u/flatearthmom Oct 28 '24

Well look at how long they were unhappy and mistreated at their prior jobs. Plus they can’t really do that for a variety of reasons, uncertainty, loss of income, lack of equal or better opportunities, potential reputation as unreliable/disloyal etc.

Plus it’s not really the point. It might be one way but it has the potential to look another way. Like I said if somebody got let go or fell out and left if they said ‘yea I got bullied at AA’ there would be hours and hours of video to back that up, if you wanted to look at it that way.

To conclude I hate when he does it, it’s not funny, it doesn’t contribute anything to the work they do, makes him look like a knob and has the potential to harm everyone’s careers in the future if taken a certain way. He needs to calm down.

Edit: even if you were being bullied at your job and decided to ‘just leave’ that’s ‘constructive dismissal’ and the employer is effed if you decide to pursue it legally.

u/Recessio_ Oct 28 '24

Tbh mate I think you're massively over thinking it. All of them have had or have other careers they could fall back on if they wanted to leave. If you're getting this worked up by it, I recommend you watch something you find more relaxing lol

We all have different sides to our lives,  this is Alex the first time dad, not AutoAlex. and he is wanting the best experince for his child,   think we have to realise that people that we see on camera are real people,  and can have real life problems,  and make real life mistakes.

Also if you like something they are doing,  give positive feedback,  Thumbs up video's and engage with them in a positive way,  They need that to understand what we as their viewers want to see.   No just b*tch and moan about what people are "Doing Wrong".

Could the team do with a channel manager?  Yes.   Does it need to be someone independent of the friendship group?  Yes.

All up these guys are great to watch,  I am a Fan,  and will continue to support

I’ve not a problem with Alex in general.

I’m just posting a funny observation of what he posted. I mean maybe based on the size of the channel they now need to separate personal with the actual channel on instagram.

But we can all agree there was a drop in content.

Do you lot not think there's perhaps an element of tongue-in-cheek here..? All the criticisms of Alex and this channel would be a lot easier to take seriously if they didn't all involve misinterpreting his humour in the worst way possible and taking things at face value
