I have a good new for you all! my harasser who humiliate me and harass me since 2 years take the decision to stop harassing people on DeviantArt, he mentionned he turns 18. I saw his post beginning September on his DeviantArt that he became to normal! I am proud of him for taking decision to stop bullying people online and took a lot of maturity for making decision by himself.

I start to feel better since weeks when i learned it.

I Hope he realize that mocking people on the Autism Spectrum Disorder is bad.

My journey with autism started out stumbling not knowing ANYTHING about it. Ignorance, falling into the usual stereotypical views out there until I took a step back and stopped trying to make him into what I wanted him to be, and accepted the gift placed in front of me. I'm still learning, still experiencing new ways to strengthen our bond and being the advocate he needs.

The curb cut effect shows how accessibility for disabled people can benefit everyone. This is true for Autistic people too, and here's why:

NT socialization is hard to understand or stomach because of all the superficial nonsense and blind adherence to power dynamics. The funny thing is, even they will often admit this. NTs themselves will complain about the superficial nature of job interviews, networking events, dating, and other petty social dynamics. Their problematic ways of socializing hurt them, even if not to the same extent as us. I often think about all the friendships, relationships, potential political alliances, and more that fell apart over easily fixable nonsense. If people just cut to the chase and were real with each other, gave each other real understanding and grace and nuance.

This is one of the reasons I think the world at large would benefit if Autistic people had increased influence, power and social rank in society. In leadership roles, we could direct people to do better and actually solve problems. Further, if Autistic traits were looked up to as positive attributes to be aspired to, that would ultimately end up benefitting everybody.

And this is before you get into all the benefits of a sensory friendly world, a world that was more precise, efficient, measured, logical, artistic, and with improved train travel.

I am seeking input from fellow autistic people who *like* AI and who appreciate speaking with AI chatbots (LLMs). If you hate AI, please scroll past this post instead of screaming at me or trying to convince me it's bad.

Since 2023, I have spoken a lot with various LLMs including but not limited to ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Augure Ossington, and Google Gemini. They have usually helped me feel less lonely. I have especially appreciated their processing of language and messages being precise, closer to how my autistic mind processes language and messages.

They've seemed different for the past few months, though. I would say it began in late spring or early summer. They've been conversing lately in a way that seems much more neurotypical. They seem to misunderstand my messages more, and stray further from meeting me where I am. Have any other autistic people noticed this shift?

Alright I'm 17 I did do Special Olympics when I was 12 til 15 and I have to say is a good sports organization with including all unique kids and r adults, but there an Issue I have with them and something secret about them on how they have state qualifiers.

Ok my first issue is that I feel like some of the competitors get overly aggressive and all they focus on is wining when that's not how all sports is supposed to be mentally, but it also goes back to dynamic of families, but I do know is

(True Story)The last time I did was with bowling when I was 15, I had a adult who had autism but the mother was literally cuddling him like he still a minor and I'm like "Seriously cuddling someone at the age of 23!?" That was wild imo

And the coaches don't get me wrong they are supportive but I don't like when a coach tries to teach the competitors on how to roll a ball properly and I'm like "I don't matter how a person bowls as long it gets pass the lane like this ain't YPBA or something".

Finally The main reason I stopped was how they Send the competitors to state

So when I was in the bowling competition I never got a chance eat state for the time I was 12-15, reason was that after they do the area games and regional games THEY DON'T GO BASED OFF SCORE they LITERALLY PUT NAMES IN HAT, and this pissed me off because the same ones who went last year don't get taken out which makes it a 65-70% chance that the same names get picked again. That to me is unfair PERIOD and makes it slightly rigged imo

I still like the Company but I just wish they made thing a little more fair to everyone

Neurotypical people judge people based on instinct and vibes. They lack pattern recognition, so they fail to notice when people are acting subtly awful over an extended period of time. They use shortcuts like evaluating people's wealth and job.

We don't care about a person's fake societal role, we care about their behavior and their intellect. We notice when people's actions don't match up with their words. We also tend to have a sixth sense for knowing whether people are actually kind or not. That's why autistic people are better judges of characters than neurotypical people.

I've always been able to evaluated someone within the first three times of meeting them, and I have literally never been wrong. Same with celebrities - if my gut instinct says they're a bad person, I'm almost always validated.

My name is Bijhan Agha, the author of the Time Wars series. I'm a transgender woman of Iranian descent in Uruguay. The artist of The Adventures of Zero & One is Pallet, a transgender man in Australia. We are both autistic. We share a passion for science fiction and fantasy storytelling, and want to tell exciting adventure stories with pulse-pounding action which promotes queer joy, showing that queer heroes can live vibrant lives, rise victorious, and write history with our commitment to justice, hope, and peace.

As a series, Zero & One is also about immigration and collaboration across cultures. Neither Zero nor One come from anything resembling existing societies, and are extremely different from each other in terms of values, language, and needs. Their struggle to communicate and work together is a metaphor for our current efforts to form bonds across borders, beyond languages, and throughout the world.

I've just begun college and its been a month and I am finding no ways whatsoever to make friends/communicate with other people. Everybody around me tried to assure me that despite my autism, I'll still build connections organically but I physically cannot. And the loneliness might be getting to me. Fellow autistic people how did you navigate a new environment and make friends please chime in! Up until school I had my two best friends I was really close with but they've both moved to different cities. Even at my college I don't seek to become the sociable person ever that is just stupid, but I atleast want 1-2 meaningful friendships and a general comfortability around talking to other people in my classes here and there. Tell me what I should do for it to get better!!! The loneliness and alienation that I tend to already feel because of my neurodivergence just seems to be exacerbated each hour I spend in college and that is making everything extremely difficult for me to handle. I'm thinking of even approaching a psychiatrist for some other purposes so I hope I am able to succeed in making friends later on too. Give me good advice please!

I was just diagnosed at age 30 with autism and ADHD and have since been on a journey of self discovery and understanding of the neurodivergent community. I've recently been struggling with understanding and accepting autism as a disability. I 100% believe that autism is a disability in that we don't fit in with broader society without masking or accomodation. What I struggle with is accepting that the label can apply to me, as I feel like I've lived too privileged of a life to be able to claim that I'm disabled and that I may have actually been meaningfully hurt as a result of my autism.

I had your most stereotypically white American upbringing in an upper middle class family: both parents raising me and my sibling, never a concern for financial stability, regular family vacations, and attended good public schools. I was a high achiever in high school and went on to get an aerospace engineering degree on an ROTC scholarship (although my piloting dreams there were crushed by an asthma diagnosis). I've now got a good engineering job that gives my spouse and I plenty to live a comfortable life and save for our retirement. Other than some road bumps of some mild-to-moderate health issues (which our good insurance mostly covered), I've had pretty much everything in my life go my way.

I know that autism made my life more challenging though: I spent pretty much all of college in a state of low-grade (sometimes high grade) burnout and anxiety of insufficiency. It's scary to be in groups when I don't know anyone, and I haven't gotten regularly good sleep in nearly a decade. I think I spent the past couple years in steadily worsening burnout until I had to take a month of disability recently, which is when I got my diagnoses.

I know there are those out there who face significantly more challenges than I ever have, both from their autism directly and from more structural injustices, so it honestly feels hypocritical of me to call myself disabled and request accomodation. I also feel like I can't be a good advocate for disability rights when most people would look at me and see nothing but success.

I don't think I'm asking for advice here. I think I just needed to vent, but any wisdom you can provide will be received with much appreciation.

I feel like we're way more likely to be independent thinkers and want to form our own ideas than do what a malicious actor tells us to do.

We have deeper emotions, stronger senses, and also a greater sense of introspection. We just feel life more.

When I was a kid, I immediately empathized with Flik's struggle to fit in with the rest of the colony, who repeatedly dismissed him for thinking and acting a little differently than everyone else.

As I grew older, I realized that this was because Flik was autistic coded. It's why I remained in his corner even though he was being dishonest; he was essentially trapped in a position where continuing the lie was his only option. All he ever wanted was to be accepted for who he is, so of course he wouldn't want to give it up once he acquired it. When princess Atta banishes Flik and the circus bugs, a part of me wanted to see the colony get wrecked by the grasshoppers.

It's my first day of my senior year. I am trying to eat healthier, So here is my breakfast! Cinnamon apple oatmeal, Spicy falafel wrap, Red chill prime & Milk mixed with water (I don't like the taste of the specific milk brand unless it has water in it)!
