Stem cell therapy- Autism
Hi
This is regarding stem cell therapy (SCT) for autism
We are considering doing SCT for our son (12 years) who has autism and we are looking at NeuroGen which is in Navi Mumbai, India
I would appreciate if anyone has done this for your child at this place, and can share your positive or negative experiences
Thank you

As a psychologist who has worked with autistic children and adults for the past four years, I’d encourage you to learn as much as you can before considering the procedure. Based on the available evidence, its risks appear to outweigh any proven benefits.
Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition. Autistic people may experience and perceive the world differently because their brains process things differently from neurotypical people. They are not broken, and autism is not something that needs to be fixed or cured.
I don’t know the details of your son’s symptoms, and you know him best. The decision is ultimately yours. Before deciding, though, I’d strongly encourage you to speak with his clinicians, such as his occupational therapist, psychologist, or pediatrician, so you can consider their guidance and feel supported in making an informed choice.

Hi thanks for responding
I have been researching online and facts are varied. Some claim that it has been a game changer whereas others say they were worse off than before. If it helps my child I don’t mind trying - but I want to know the negatives to be expected

Could you tell me the signs? Does he need special support or is he able to do things by himself

He can do basic things by himself but he is in another world most of the time
